18th Century Chinese Export Nanking design Porcelain Spoon Rest, Spoon Tray, later part of Quinlong period, late 1700's, 4 3/4" x 3 3/4" wide, 5/8" high, Tall building along the river bank with trees and rocks within typical wide high gallery fluted rim. Gilt finish on the rim area is worn in some areas.
A beautiful Ming Wanli blue and white large kendi (pouring vessel). this kendi has globular body with tubular neck, disc shape mount and globular spout, decorate with under glaze blue galloping horse, flower spray and blue base continuous flower motif on the shoulder, Buddhist symbols and peach motif at the spout, neck with raised leaves motif.
Kendi is in very good condition, no chip, no crack, no restoration, porcelain with good glaze.

Chinese Green Jadeite Jade Pendant, carved lotus flower shape with incised line of pedals, 1 5/8" wide 1 1/4" high, 1/4" thick, with natural infusions. Holes indicated that this piece was sewn onto the clothes, or attach to the larger piece of jewel items. The condition is good.

Antique Nepalese bronze figures of Yama Dharmaraja and Yami in tantric embrace. The buffalo headed Buddhist protector, Lord of Death and Justice stands with his consort. He tramples a male buffalo with one foot, a female victim with the other. He brandishes a skull-tipped stick in his right hand and his hair streams out in flames behind his horns.

A traditional Korean gentlemen's headgear piece called a Gat, constructed of woven horsehair, bamboo, lacquer and silk. The Gat represented the social status of the wearer and protected their topknot underneath.

Antique Japanese ikebana basket (for flower arrangement). Light color bamboo with oblong form. A round mouth and sides that flatten slightly as they taper down to the bottom where they are bound together with a strip of wood. The upper portion of the basket has a band of tightly woven split bamboo and the lower portion has a bolder weave. A thin belt of dark bamboo divides the upper and lower patterns. Attaches to the wall with a thin rope in the back of the basket...
An antique Japanese Shikiita Kadai burl wood display stand used for a Bonsai or Ikebana base. Hand carved upper perimeter rim with the organic exterior surrounding edge that was left intact. A beatiful stand that would showcase any object of art.

During the late 1800's and early 1900's eyeglasses became an important accessory for the Chinese. Upon seeing eyeglasses on visiting Western dignitaries and businessmen, the Chinese perceived and admired these "spectacles" as age enhancing. Not only did the eyeglasses improve eyesight...but they added age and dignity to the face of the wearer. Equating age with wisdom and respect, many Chinese took up the custom of wearing eyeglasses...
This rich carved Austrian rural style armoire comes from the Pinzgau valley near Salzburg.
He is made in the Renaissance style, but he dates later at about 1740.
