A small carved wooden stele from Nepal of a Buddhist or more likely Hindu deity, maybe Indra. Bejeweled god with a fan-shaped crown, seated on a lotus base in lalita-sana under a mandorla. A beautiful dark wood tray in the shape of an upturned Reishii mushroom, the underside taking advantage of the natural texture and grain of the wood. It is 26 x 21 x 4cm and in excellent condition dating from the later 19th to early 20th centuries.
The Reishi (Chinese Lingzhi), is the ancient "mushroom of immortality", revered for over 2,000 years. In the poetry of Ban Gu of the 1st century CE is an ode dedicated to Lingzhi...

Interesting figure of a kneeling man with black African features. The naked man leans forward a little and looks thoughtful. He shows a furrowed brow, receding hairline and puffed up hair.

A soapstone piece was well carved with a lady and a child.
By nice carvings, the stone piece was preserved with very good patina and in nice condition with only one old defect on the back.

Date: Qing Dynasty, 19th century.

This is really a fantastic fragment of a faience Isis, sitting on a lion throne, nursing her son Horus.
The whole throne, supported by two stringing lions, is well preserved. The lions are extremely fine
and you can see every detail. Dating is between Third Intermediate Period to Late Period.
I think it looks a little bit Nubian, than it is 25th Dynasty...

Wonderful antique Japanese tea ceremony tray to serve sweets. Meiji Period c.1890 made of persimmons wood with rich patina and undulating edges. Inscripted on the tray in flowing japanese characters are the kanji reading 'sei ogi-zo' meaning realized sage and the maker's signature which we can't read. Excellent condition. c.1890.
