An English Staffordshire bowl and a bread or cake plate, part of an early 19th century tea set. Decoration in blue, beige and gilt of flower garlands and ribbons. Diameter of bowl "6 ¼ /16 cm, of plate "8 ½/ 22 cm, height of bowl "3 ¼/ 8 cm. Condition: some exterior glaze cracks to the lower part of bowl.

Silk crepe cloth with beautiful embroidery of wisteria motif which is one of the long sleeves (furisode). The ground cloth is white silk crepe (chirimen) and the embroidery threads are vegetable dye. It has kata-kanoko (stencil-dye pattern) imitating small shibori pattern named kanoko shibori. In excellent condition except for a light brownish line in the center. Late Meiji - early Taisho (1910s) Japanese pottery Bizen ware chaire (tea caddy for storing powdered green tea used in tea ceremony). Wonderful potting, buff color clay with beautiful orange streaks, pleasant patina, impressed mark of the potter on the bottom. Later turned dark hardwood lid lined with gold paper on the inside. Comes with very well made shifuku (silk brocade storage bag). Great piece in excellent condition. Height with cover 3 1/8 inches, maximum body diameter 2 3/16 inches.

This is an antique bronze Kwan Yin, found in China with other ancient coins, in good condition and still clear intact, nice patina. Thanks

The dish has an unusual square form with indented corners and a raised almost vertical rim which suggests that it was probably intended to be used for the serving of sashimi, sliced raw fish. This type of dish is described in Japanese as a shihou-sumioshi sara. By the late Mid Edo period sashimi had been growing in popularity being prepared by professional chefs, and was served both in aristocratic and in wealthy households and Ryokan...

Apulian salt cellar with rounded rim band and concave sided bottom.
Warm brownish gloss with fingermarks around the base, where held during dipping.
Similar bowls are known from southern Italy, notably eastern Lucania, northern Apulia and Campania.

Large ovate hand axe made of a flake of tan quartzite. Bifacial tool with carefully worked front side. The rougher back side with fewer removals. The continuous cutting edge weathered by sand and wind action.
This type of tool stands for the presence of Palaeolithic populations in North Africa.

18th century off-gray Chinese translucent jade plaque to be sawn onto clothes with pierced and carved design of the Three Friends of Winter - pine, prunus and bamboo - celebrated for the fact that they do not wither as the cold days deepen into the winter season unlike many other plants. Beni-itajime-zome (board-clamped dyeing with safflower) han-juban (short under kimono). The body part is hand-spun cotton and the sleeves are figured silk and the wrist parts are wool muslin. This is muslin Katazome kimono of the Taisho era. As for this, a pattern is a shadow picture. Children carry a child miniature shrine on their shoulder and enjoy the festival for children. There are a small hole and stain in several places. Size 75cmx64cm (29.5 "x25.1")

Antiques Annamese jarlet with lobed body and decorated with slight blackish flower scrolls around the body. Vietnam's 15th-16th century. Condition is good, no any crack and free from any restoration excepted a very tiny flake chip to rim. Height: 8 cm.

Japanese antique beautiful Patterns of bream & bamboo tsutsugaki indigo dye cotton furoshiki textile taisyo era(1912-1926).There are a few thin stains and several small holes.They are not disturbing, and as a whole it is in very good condition. size:Length 112cm (44.0inch) width 110cm (43.3inch)

The size of Bowl: 6" Dia x 1 3/4" High. Nice Japanese Ko Imari sometsuke Bowl. The bowl is made from nice quality porcelain which was molded in the design of Shippo at the rim area. It has sometsuke decoration of Yoraku and landscape design in the center. Back has leaf design. The condition of bowl is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. One little Kamahi line at the edge 3 o'clock but it is in the glazing. One gosu blue spot at the edge, 7 o'clock...

Six very nice sterling silver cocktail or seafood forks elegantly decorated on both the front and back sides. The backs are marked "Sterling Pat. Jan. 21 [18]'99". Unknown American maker.

Six sterling silver cocktail forks in Gorham's lovely 1899 "Cambridge" pattern. The handles are beautifully decorated with flowers, scrolls, and gadrooning. The backs are marked with Gorham's old hallmark, the patent date, and the retailer's mark "W.F. Van Arsdel".

A German 1820's cabinet cup and saucer with burnished and matte gilt decoration of Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s new theater building in Berlin, inaugurated in 1821 and nowadays concert hall. Inscribed “Das neue Schauspielhaus in Berlin”. Height "4½/ 11 cm. Condition: rubbing to the gilt on the saucer and inside the cup (cf. pics.).

An Arita abalone (Mother of Pearl) shaped dish painted in somenishikide style with a stylised landscape of Mountainous Islands, a shoreline with rocky outcrops with various trees including Pine, flowers and grasses with a rather peculiar and precarious structure in the foreground seemingly lacking several posts in its construction. The reverse decorated with landscape vignettes to the reverse and a six character mark for the Chinese Emperor Qianlong...

Old tribal necklace, made of old glass beads of various colours with a bronze ornament in the shape of a double fish tail. North East India, Naga ethnic group. Length: around 34 cm. Very good condition. Provenance: 1) old European collection, 2) auction sale.

A pair of Imari cups, scalloped rims and decoration of reserves with landscapes and calligraphy in underglaze blue and little berries or dots in overglaze red. Japanese, Edo around 1860, shop mark in underglaze blue. Height "2 ½/ 6.2 cm, diameter "3 ¼ / 8.3 cm. Condition: fine.

Tang terra cotta image of a Fat Lady. Traces of original pigment with legible facial features (note noted in enlargements). This is the smallest one I have ever seen- miniatures are extremely rare. H: 6.2cm. The bottom is uneven (just appears to have been made that way) there are traces of glue where it was probably once attached to a stand, otherwise, good condition- no damage or repair.

Large lustre-glazed faience or majolica dish by Alfredo Santarelli in Gualdo Tadino, Deruta, Italy. Santarelli (1874-1957) took his inspiration from near-by Urbino, the birth-place of the most exquisite 16th century Renaissance maiolica. Mixing this with Hispano-Moresque lustre glaze effects he created his highly decorative Neo-Renaissance / Istoriato pieces. Early monogrammed AS signature, c 1910. Unguentaria are small ceramic or glass bottles frequently found in burial contexts. Their most common use was probably as a container for oil. The unguentarium is sometimes referred to as lacrimarium (tear-container) or balsamarium (balsam-container). All three terms reflect different assumptions about their use.

19th century small lacquer netsuke carved in a shape of mokugye - a Buddhist gong with 2 dragons contesting a Precious Gem in their mouths. Carved out of a slab of lacquer, which was made of differently colored layers, thus giving the finished piece rich play of colors. Beautiful patina, signed with a single character MITSU. Height 0.96 inches.
