Measuring 25.2 x 30 cm, this embroidered cloth from Jaghori in Ghazni province was made by Hazara women. It depicts in vibrant colors four eight-pointed stars and triangular hooked motifs down the center. The stitching is a combination of satin, herringbone and cross stitch, in silk thread. Some large stains are shown in the lower collar area (see Enlargement 9) and several small stains in the other areas - shown in the other enlargements. It is a whitish creamy color. Toast the new years with this solid silver sake set made for celebrations. 3 solid silver cups, as well as a beautifully shaped silver sake kettle with lid, each piece bearing the jun-gin (Pure or 100 percent silver) mark. They come enclosed in a wooden box titled Jungin-sei Shuki (Solid Silver Sake Set). The kettle is 13 cm diameter, 18 cm wide at the spout. The largest cup is 12 cm (4-3/4 inches) diameter. In total the set weighs 757 grams, or 1.65 pounds of pure silver!

A beautiful, colorful soapstone blank seal with well carved Lohan statue finial. 20th Century. Good condition, there is one very tiny chip on the vertical edge. 3-9/16"X3/4"X3/4".

Japanese obidome (sash ornament) with polished jasper top, its natural pattern perfectly resembling a view of a desert with dunes and incoming sandstorm. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Amazing natural picture, excellent finish and patina. Metal fitting on the back with two loops for an obi cord. Length 1 1/2 inches.

Chinese Tang style Sancai Glazed Horse, purchased in the 1970s age is unknown but the piece is at least vintage. No damage size H 8" by 7"

Mask used for household protection against evil spirits, with an unusual elongated form. Wood, age patina. Nepal, Gurung ethnic group, first half of 20th century. Height: 32.8 cm. Mounted on a custom stand. Some abrasion, otherwise very good condition.

Cute Japanese kimekomi hina dolls, three servants ningyo (dolls). 3 3/4 inches in height. There is one faint hairline crack going across the top of one doll (shown in the photo #6).

Embroidered on a dark purple silk, this pair of Pashtun tablecloths is from Ghazni province, Afghanistan. Each textile measures 27 x 27 cm and is animated by star motifs and repetitive whorl designs in a closely worked ladder stitch in silk thread, framed by gold-thread braid and gold-thread ribbon appliquéd onto the background. There is also some extremely fine metal thread couching on each piece, and beaded fringes all around the edges. A superb example of Pashtun embroidery...

Add some punch to your table with this colorful set of six vintage Japanese luster eggshell porcelain cups and saucers, circa 1930, richly hand painted with a detailed butterfly design on bright burnt orange ground. Marked Made in Japan. The set is 2 5/8 inches high by 6 inches wide, the cup is 2 inches high by 4 inches wide, and the saucer is 3/4 inch high by 5 1/2 inches wide. They are all in mint condition with no repairs, chips, or cracks.
