An exceptional, detailed Japanese netsuke signed my a master, early 19th. century.

A female figure inside a back or sack, dragging it around her one hand and her head protruding. It was made by a master (in kanji-signs 花楽 or 花樂).

The piece is fine decorated overall and delicately signed below. Very beautiful workmanship and among the finest of the period, really.

Size ca. 43 mm. wide and 26 mm. tall...

A fine lot of two large Hamsas, later Shan, but still Burma around 1800-1820 AD.

The Hamsas with one spike, standing on hexagonal bases. Clear 6-ray verification marks on both. Both V'tails.

Weight: c. 318 & 319 grams = 20 tical.

Condition: Nice VF, brownish patina

A fine lot of two large Hamsa birds, Shan Empire and Arakan, Burma around 1780-1820 AD.

The Hamsas with one spike, standing on hexagonal bases, different styles of heads/beaks and both V-tails. One is probably early Arakan style and lower weight-standard.

Weight: c. 265 grams & 310 grams = 20 tical.

Condition: F-VF, The burma very good condition, the Arakan Near VF, typical high amount of wear for the Arakan types...

A pair of large and impressive bronze opium weights of 20 Tical, square bases, c. 1780.

Nice specimens with great patinas! Different tail types and perhaps issued with 20-30 years apart, but both later 18th. century.

Weight: Both weighs are close to 300 grams = 20 Tical

An choice bronze 5 tical opium weight with lovely patina, ca. 1750-1776 AD.

Attractive weight of the Toe type, with a octagonal base engraved with concenthric lines and fine details to the cast.

Possible released by King Hsinbyushin in connection with his war campaigns into Manipur, Lanna and Siam in 1763-1767. Reff: Leif B. Mikkelsen 'Opium Weights', p.133, fig. 71.

An interesting early bronze figure of of Kali (probably), Southern Indian, perhaps Tamil Nadu, c. 16th.-18th. century or even earlier.

Size: c. 98 mm. tall.

Condition: Very fine, old patina and much smooth wear from worship.

Provenance: Collection of Gunna Munkvad, Denmark, aquired from the 1960s-1980s.

A high quality massive heavy bronze figure of a seated deity, probably Sri Devi / Lakshmi, holding implements and tall headdress and a breast band around her sizable attributes, South Indian, perhaps Tamil Nadu, c. 17th.-18th. century or earlier.

Our best bronze figure from this collection with unusually crisp and deligate engravings on all parts of the surface.

Massive and beautiful bronze opium weight of the 100 Tical / 1 Viss, square base, c. 1750-1780.

This Viss weight is very attractive and large with a tall handle and the square base.

Weight: 1515 grams = 1 Viss!

Size: Slightly more than 12 cm. in height and 9 cm. wide.

Condition: Choice Very fine, some wear but fine details and thick green patina.

A finely matched set of 7 bronze Hamsa bird opium weights, all from the same undertype of Shan hamsas, issued from ca. 1770 AD.

The set includes some nice weights from the massive 20 tical weight all the way down to the scarce 1/4 Tical weight.

This Hamsa-type can be dated to c. 1770-1820. They have normal hexagonal bases, engraved with concenthric lines...

A fantastic completely matched set of 8 earlier bronze opium weights, all from the same undertype of To's (Straigt up tail and 4-rays), (King Alaungpaya), ca. 1750 AD.

Interesting and scarce set that includes most all the weights that were made - from the massive 20 tical weight all the way down to the tiny and extremely rarely seen 1/4 Tical! With finely crackled surfaces, intact with greyish-green patination.

Nice Shan Ducks of a good size, with fine brown patinas. Both on Hexagonal bases one stepped and one decorated on top.

A very nice early wooden carving of Guanyin, a votive figure with offer hole in the back, covered with a hatch, Chinese, Late Ming-Early Qing Dynasty, 17th.-18th. century AD.

Beautiful depiction of Guanyin in red, black and blue colours.

Size: 30 cm. tall and 13,5 cm. wide.

Condition: Choice for age and type!. Chip to the donkeys left ear and much nice patina.

Nice version of the Toe type with the elavated tail and with three spikes, with a octagonal base engraved with concenthric lines and fine details to the cast.

Tibetan, c. 16th.-18th. century. The bell is made in a silverish bronze metal, with the vajra handle once gilt. Most of these bells are from the 19th.-20th. century, but this bell is earlier.

A very rare massive Bi glass disc, made in very dense fine Peking glass, imitation rock-crystal, Late Ming-Early Qing dynasty, 17th.-18th. century.

Impressive piece done in an achaeistic manor, in high relief depicting a Chilong / Lion, carved and finely polished in transperant glass.

The glass disc was made in a rivial period in Chinese art, where all sorts of ancient items in different stone types were imitated in glass. This particular massive disc is extremely rare and ...

A lovely set of two different smaller weights, incl. an early 18th. century Toe or Chinte 2 Tical from Burma (31,7 grams) and a scarce very old Laotian of Lanna snake weight (8,22 grams), also from the 18th. century.

Finely painted and early Indo-persian manuscript depicting a Price with his Concubine on a golden couch with two female attendants in front of a Palace with a finely lit landscabe behind. The other side with text. Finely coloured and gilt in parts!

A pair of attractive dishes, finely painted with floral motifs in blue and white, China, Kangxi Period, 1661–1722 AD.

Size: c. 22 cm. in diameter.

Condition: Dish 1: Intact, microscopic wear to the glaze of the rim. Dish 2: Intact, but for a very faint short hairline and micro-wear to the glaze of the rim which is almost always the case with the type of thin dinner plate.

A nice early powder flask, Greater Persia, shaped as the first stomach of the Camel with fine engravings.

Condition: Intact, but with much patina and wear.

Interesting early brass figure of the reclining Bull Nandi, Southern India, c. 18th. century.

A pair of interesting early bronze opium weights of Arakan, Burma, made just after Shan occupation in the late 18th. cent.

Hamsa birds with one spike in the manor of the Shan weights from 1770s-. As typical for these attractive weights, they are made in a rather crude provincial style to cover the need for weights used as currency. Also note the round or semicircular bases.

Weight: c. 313-320 grams each.

Condition: VF, nice condition for types with a warm brow...

A nice small collection of 19 seal bullae stamped in lead, dating from c. 12th.-14th. century for the oldest up to c. 17th.-18th. century!

Interesting group incl. several with Coat of Arms and perhaps also city stamps.

A lovely lot of handpicked bronze stamp seals with fine caligraphy, Ottoman / Syrian?, c. 15th.-18th. cent. AD.

The lot incl. a couple of rare larger seals of fine style as well as early personal seals with greek letters!

Condition: Choice, fine patinas, one seal bend and one with handle lost.

This Toe has the elavated horselike tail with three spikes, and standing on an octagonal and finely stepped base.

Rarity: Common.

Condition: Choice Very Fine. Nice silverish brown patina - another gem from the Abrahamsen Collection.

A stunning massive bronze golden Hamsa opium weight of a fine early style, c. 1760-1780 AD.

Weight: 311 = 20 Tical and corresponds to a weight-standard of 15,55 grams, which place it in the mid 18th. century.

The golden Hamsa with lovely details and standing on an large octagonal base stamped with the 9-rayed star.

Condition: Choice Very Fine! Lovely brown patina, some overall wear as always with earlier Golden Hamsas.

A rare and wonderful bronze mortar, Baroque period of Northern Europe, 18th. century.


The mortar is inscribed with owners initials O: H: S:, M: L: and the clear date 1769, the mortar is likely somewhat older, early 18th. century and made in a bronze allow, not brass that became popular later in the 18th. century.

The mortar comes with the original Pestle and was part of the inventory (Exebition) of a Swedish Farmacy.

A large and beautiful pottery dish from Le Dynasty Vietnam dating to 13th-14th cent.

Finely decorated with blue floral motifs on a white underglaze. Also concentric rings in the interior.

A very nice early carving and highly unusual! Buddha is depicted as a crowned king seated on his double Lotus Throne held by a dragon below and with a great flaming halo behind, carved with dragons.

The carving can be dated to the late Ming-early Qing dynasty, c. 17th. century.

A fine set of the earliest types of bronze Manillas socalled Slavetrader bracelets, Africa, Nigeria, 16th.-18th. cent. AD.

These were made and used as currency well up in the 19th. century, but our selection are very old! These come with exceptionally fine jade like patinas and were wrongly sold as European bronzeage bracelets.

An interesting and impressive large Thai bronze sculpture with silver and glass decoration, early-mid 18th. century.

Surely made for a wealthy temple or person. The Buddha is made in the finest later Ayutthaya style, likely 1750 or so. Crowned Buddha with an exceptionally rich decoration in silver and bronze beads and thick thread of Jewellery and floral design on the entire figure.
