An E-karatsu Yobitsugi bowl made of various shards attached with wide bands of gold to a discarded base: the pieces dating from the Momoyama to early Edo periods. It is 22 x 20 x 6 cm 8-1/2 x 8 x 2-1/4 inches) and comes enclosed in a modern kiri-wood collectors box titled E-Karatsu Hachi.

This magnificent and striking tureen is made of cloisonne having a slightly mustard yellow ground and beautifully accented with green diaper around the mouth of the bowl. The body is decorated with traditional Chinese emblems of good luck, and auspicious symbols such as the bat decorated with speckled blue. The blue dragon scaled handle atop the lid is embellished with brass buttons. The bowl is supported by flaring oval wrap-around feet.

Case: 7.125" x 3.125” Brass and beveled glass carriage clock in the Boite Riche design with a shaped carrying handle above the flat pediment with the glazed aperture to view the platform escapement (not shown in photos). The rectangular lacquered brass case has gilt brass repousse work in narrow frieze above and below the beveled glass panels as well as around the base in a broader band. The case sits on brass turned feet and has a door at the back for access to the movement compartment.

Reverberating Zen Temple Bell from a Buddhist Temple with lacquered stand with inscription on the bell reading, 'Showa 3' (ca.1929). Deep, sonorous sound. With red lacquered striker. Excellent condition. Stand and bell height: 67cm; bell: 24cm height and 37cm diameter.
This vase stands out with its beautiful cranberry color with rich jeweled honey gilding accented with white scrollwork and blue swags. The sinuous form enhances the overall elegance of its Art Nouveau inspired sensibilities.
Unmarked but clearly Bohemian in origin. We date this class to c. 1910 or earlier.
Condition is excellent with some very minor losses to the gilding
