A truely spectacular tomb pottery model of a rich court house or mansion, China, Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.

This building complex was Termo-Luminescence tested by Ralf Kotallas Laboratory. It consists of 6 houses, 4 walls and a screen (11 parts) comes with three full TL reports of different buildings, all dating it to the Ming Dynasty.

We've seen and sold a few Court houses before and they have all consisted of 4 houses and 4 walls...

A charming metal artist's trade sign mounted under glass in a fine period wood frame. Obviously done to showcase his skill, it shows a palette with brushes resting in the thumb hole along with flowers, additional flowers and a bird outside of the palette.

The sign and the frame with its original backboard are in excellent condition. Sight size 13 1/2" by 9 1/2", and a framed size of 17" by 12 1/2".

A black glazed Jin Dynasty vase well painted in iron-brown with two graceful floral sprays.The Jin Dynasty was founded by the Wanyan clan of the Jurchen people, the ancestors of the Manchu people who established the Qing dynasty some 500 years later.. Size: H. 16.7cm. W. 20cm

A brown jade pig dragon carved into a Zuhulong or pig dragon in the Hongshan period. Size: H:6cm, W: 5cm.

Antique Japanese inro with three compartments, made of wood with gold lacquer and inlaid with gold flecks. One side is decorated with a pair of cranes and sprouting pines. The other side of the inro depicts an ancient turtle who carries, on his back, a large rock formation. Out of the rock sprouts a plum tree, a pine tree and bamboo - together called Sho chiku bai or "The Three Friends of Winter". The inside of each compartment is cover with dense nishji lacquer (fine gold flecks)...

This small wood box contains a folding top panel on which is mounted a mirror, and a drawer for holding personal items. The box is constructed using pawlonia (kiri) wood on all sides with hardwood and pawlonia panels on the top. The box measures about 10" long x 7 3/4" wide x 5 1/4" high, and dates to the 19th Century. The condition is good. There is a small repair to one corner of the drawer. The nails holding the mirror panel hinges have been replaced with longer nails...

Silver pot with an elaborate embossed decoration consisting in a dragon on its handle, a "makara" on its spout, Buddhist symbols on its neck, and dragons and stylized lotus on its body. Tibet, 19th century. Height: 14.5 ccm. Very good condition.

Tiny statue of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara in his Padmapani manifestation, wearing formal garment and diadem, standing on a lotus. Gilt bronze. China, Tang Dynasty. Height: 4.6 cm. The statue is mounted on a plexiglass stand. Gilding partly missing, otherwise very good condition.

Antler bone netsuke of sea life; carved from the base of an antler; good condition

Edwardian sterling silver picture frame. Retailed by JE Caldwell in Philadelphia. Rectangular with alternating vertical plain and pinstripes. At top horizontal frame between engraved garlands. With glass, silk lining, and velvet back and hinged support. Marks include maker’s (Lebkeucher) and retailer’s stamps and no. 2707JJB. Good condition. Top rail has minor lifting. Velvet wear and discoloration.

Antique European silver strainer, ca 1840. Round bowl with concentric piercing, gadrooned rim, and feathered open loop handle. On handle back is engraved shaded block monogram NP. Marked. Very good condition.

A densely patterned delicately potted early white porcelain dish decorated with two impressed phoenix, poeny flower,lotus and (unusually) with a flying swan to the centre...

Burmese lacquered harp, or Saung, the body carved with gilt floral motifs and inlaid glass. The tip of the curved neck ends in a stylized gilt leaf with inlaid glass. The 14-stringed instrument sits displayed on a carved wood stand with temple guardians and lotuses.

A fine double series opaque twist wine glass with a bell bowl above a stem containing a pair of corkscrews outside of a single multi-ply corkscrew.

Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil. The condition of the glass is excellent, with no cracks, chips, or restoration. Good color, striations, and tooling marks. Any discolorations, specks, or streaks are due to the photos. The height of this fine piece is 6 3/4", with a bowl diameter of 2 13/16" and a foot diameter of 3".

A nicely carved natural amber pendant with one bat and leaf design. The bat represent longevity and happiness. The bat and happiness sound is in the Chinese language is similar - both pronounced Fu.It floats. Size: L. 2.3cm. Condition: No repairs, cracks or chips.

This is a beautiful rare Japanese Cloisonne tray. If it were not signed, many would attribute this fine piece to the workshop of Namikawa Sosuke. The workmanship on this piece exceeds that of many other cloisonne trays to be seen with roosters or chickens. The tray measure just under 11 by 11 inches. Condition is very good but there is a slight indent on the rim with a minor bit of crazing at this spot on the reverse side. To view see the last 2 images.

Wearing an elaborate crested Corinthian helmet, wearing a sleeveless chiton, scaled breast plate, and aegis with Gorgon’s head. 1st Century BC/1st Century AD, 3 inches high. Mounted. From an old New Jersey private collection, purchased on the NYC art market in the early 1980s.

Finely detailed amulet of Hatmehyt. Depicted seated, wearing the fish crown, with finely-modelled facial details, wearing a striated, tripartite wig, arms along side and bent at the elbows.
