A simple bronze with mixed metal applied to the surface utilizing the method known as zogan where gold and silver is used to apply the decoration and is fired on the surface. The motif is a plum branch with a bird known as an onagadori which is similar to a rooster, but is a distinct bird found in Japan. Piece is signed by Mitsufune. French Papier Mache lacquered Chinoiserie decorated tray, 5/8" high, 10" diameter, Ca. late 1800's, with family outings to river bank Pavilion. There are some wear on lacquer finish and stains but no major damages.

English Papier Mache Display Shelf with lacquered Chinoiserie decorated shelf, either place on the table or hang on the wall, 8 1/2" high-maximum height, 13" wide and 4 1/4" deep. This Japanese walrus tusk carving of a young maiden is a late-19th century or early 20th century product. It is 7 ¼” high (8 7/8” high with wood base) and 2 ¾” wide. It depicts a young maiden holding a long necked vase in one hand and a long stemmed flower in her other hand. There is a tall stand beside her with an incense burner. The statue is permanently mounted on the carved wood base. It is in great condition.

This nicely executed silver alloy tea pot is a late-19th century product. It is 8” high (9 ½” high with handle extended) and 9” wide at the spout. The body is 6 ¼” wide. The famous 8 immortals and their symbols appear over the entire hexagonal body and cover. The spout is the shape of a mythical animal, PiXie. The knob on the cover of the teapot is a seated PiXie. There is an honorable mark “Great Qing Qian Long” stamped on the bottom. It is in great condition.

This very well carved and designed carved bamboo root brush washer is an early-20th century product. It is 1 7/8” high and 5 7/8” wide (measured from the widest part). It depicts old pine trees with a crane resting on one of the limbs. According to Chinese tradition, pine trees and cranes represent longevity. It is in great condition.

Chinese Export Canton pattern Blue and White Porcelain Leaf shape Sauce/Gravy Boat, Ca. 1840's 1 1/2" high, 7 1/4" long with handle, 3 3/4" wide-maximum measurement. Underglaze blue design of typical Canton pattern, Chinese Pavilions on the river bank, a man with umbrella is walking on the bridge. There are several frits and chips on the rim area.

The subtle pair of Japanese bronze vases with the detailed work done of motifs of lotuses, herons, and carp fascinate the eyes. The gold metal are arranged to show the changes in color of the lotus leaves and to bring forth the beauty of the lotus blossoms. Work is signed by Miyabe Atsuyoshi who was active during the Meiji period and paved the way for contemporary Takaoka Bronze. Age: Meiji Period Size: Height: 5" Diameter: 2.75"

This is a design for a kimono with a leafing vine surrounding a lacquer calligraphy box with inkstone and brushes in tones of grays and black with only the calligraphy brushes having red and yellow handles. Large green glazed Shiwan pottery teapot in the shape of a water bucket with a pour spout, small lid, and carrying handle. In very good condition save for a tiny flea bite on the spout, it measures about 10.5” high (to top of handle) x 9" diameter (10” across including spout). Dates circa 1885.

Chinese Porcelain turquoise color man Figure sitting on the rock, 3" high, 2 3/4" wide, 1 1/2" deep, made before 1920's. His nose and one(1) foot got stuck during firing in the kiln, when this figure was removed from the other object, he lost his side of nose and one(1) foot. Impressed mark "China" on the unglazed bottom.

Chinese Green and yellow glazed Pottery Figure, two(2) men with large fish , 7" high, 3" wide, 3" deep, 3 1/4" diameter-bottom. There are some glaze chips and tight glaze hairline about 2" long around back side of the neck of the standing man behind.

Absolutely beautiful sofa in a variation of Belter's Rosalie pattern. It was made between 1850 and 1860 and is typical of Henry Belter's wonderful laminated furniture for which he is so famous. Burmese carved and painted marble head of Buddha, beautiful serene expression, exquisitely subtle details for example the carved arching brows and slightly smiling mouth, black hair with traces of gold, 18th century. Comes with black metal stand. Age: 17th-18th century. Total size on stand: 26 1/4" high x 8 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" deep.

The quality of the carving is extraordinary. This bamboo brush pot comes from an old German collection, there still is an old inventory number to the base of the piece. There is a Chinese inscription to the piece which can be translated as follows : "the boat is ready to go to heaven, the prince will go seek help from god". Qing Dynasty, nineteenth century or earlier. H : 14,4 cm. Diameter : 10,9 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice patina.

The painting depicted court musicians playing divine music called Bugaku. Bugaku is a Japanese court music accompanied by dancing. Here one of the players plays shen (a bamboo instrument first produced in China in 7th century) and the other one sounds a massive drum with mitsudomoe crest (three comma-shaped figures in a circle). Bugaku carries a ritualistic implication and is usually played at the start before dance performance begins. Bugaku purifies the stage. Painted with ink and pigments...

An uncommon tinsel, or foil, painting on glass. Extremely vibrant, with deep colors, the painting shows a bluebird surrounded by a variety of fruit, with a compote of fruit behind it. It is rare to have a foil scene without a lot of open space between subjects.

The painting is in excellent condition, as is the later frame, which measures 16 1/4" by 13 1/4".

A classic George III sterling silver wine coaster, the bombe sides with egg and dart decoration and the rim with gadrooning. The decoration is finely crafted. The turned wood base is centered with a silver escutcheon bearing an unidentified coat of arms (dancetty with three swords points down) impaling that of Ashby (ermine chevron and three leopard’s heads) tied with a ribbon. The coaster is clearly stamped with hallmarks for London and the second George III duty mark (1786-1821)...

Japanese Blue & White Imari Porcelain deep Serving Dish, Ca. 1920, deep flat bottom dish for serving food, 12" diameter, 2 3/4" high, with underglaze blue decoration of mountain, pine tree and Japanese style house. Wide border of flowers in blue transfer design on inside and outside the rim, transfer blue mark on the bottom. Stained old chip 1/2" wide on the foot rim, and some scratches on top of the dish.

Japanese Blue and White Transfer ware Porcelain Square cut corner deep Platter, 12" square, 1 1/2" high, pine tree, mountain and river design in the center, and two different shade of transfer blue design of trees, foliage and butterflies on the wide border. One shallow flake chip 3/4" wide underneath the rim and some old frits on the corner of the dish, and scratches in the glaze on top of the dish.

Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain covered box or jar with cover, Ca. 1850, 4 1/8" high, 4" wide-widest part, 3 7/8" diameter-top opening, drum shape box, top with raised nail head on the lower part of the box and the top. Overglaze Rose Medallion design inside the cartouches, the rest area is decorated with flowers, leaves and stylized flying bats in pink background enamel. The condition is good except very shallow flake chip the size of 1/8" wide inside the unglazed top rim area.

Chinese Export Rose Mandarin low relief and open design Porcelain Brush Pot, 4 1/2" high, 2 1/2" diameter, Ca. 1830, with molded and low relief design of Chinese Scholars in the garden scene, raised design in overglaze enamel decoration. Glaze star crack on the bottom and two(2) stains on unglazed bottom rim. Some kiln bubbles popped on the gilded top rim which is somewhat worn from the usage.

Porcelain covered by white glaze to the foot and decorated with full carved floral on the interior ; unglazed base. PERIOD : Song Dynasty (960–1279 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 22 cm wide. CONDITION: Excellent, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

This pendant is carved on both sides in the form of a peach hanging from a leafy stem. It is suspended from a twisted gold wire loop from a small pierced hole at the top. The semi-translucent stone is a very pale pink tone with whitish inclusions. Acquired from a Southern Pines, North Carolina estate.
