Chinese Ming Dynasty scroll painting attributed to Qiu Ying (1494-1552). Qiu Ying's courtesy name was Shifu (实父), and his art name was Shizhou (十洲). He is regarded as one of the Four Masters of the Ming dynasty. Ink and color on silk, hanging scroll. The painting represents a beauty in her back yard of bamboos and rock garden. A bokce cover composed of two different silver or gold thread brocaded silk textiles. Metallic thread laced edging with sequins and the four corners with tassels. Cotton lining. Antique Japanese theatre mask of a mujina, which could mean either badger or raccoon-dog (tanuki). Both creatures are famous in Japanese folklore for their shapeshifting abilities. One of his most popular appearances is in the story of a mujina yokai (shape shifter) who becomes a kozō (little monk) and stands by empty roads at night. The other is of a tanuki who turns himself into a teapot. Mujina can also take the form of a faceless ghost...

Very fine ornate sterling silver server for either fish or ice cream. The handle is covered with a pattern of hibiscus flowers and swirling foliage. The floral element is echoed in the beautifully engraved floral pattern on the blade. The blade is finished off with a very ornate outline. Many American silversmiths did not mark their names until the early 20th century, and the back is marked only "Sterling."

A nice study lot of 5 stamp seals in different kind of stones incl. serpentine and marple, made in semi-autonomous Neo-Hittite states of Syria and Levante, during the Neo-Assyrian period, early 1st. millenium BC.

The seals mostly of the tall pyramid shape, but there's also a double-side rectangular seal. The bases and sides engraved with crosses and other symbols.

Shima-cho, a sample book of cotton stripes. It has more than 600 fragments, mostly hand-spun and vegetable dye but some warps are chemical dye and also some fragments have silk threads. The second half of the 19th century. In good condition but some fragments are mildewy. 38 pages. 18.5cm x 13cm x 2cm

A very rare Yuan dynasty longquan celadon dish, rounded side, flattened rim with deep center and glazed foot ring, dish decorate with impressed flower motif at the center, at the inner wall there is molded weave or cloud motif, at the rim there is 12 unglazed biscuit fired brown of flower motif, glazed base with ring for firing.
Dish is in very good condition no damage, no chip, no crack, no restoration, dish has wrapped (unbalance) rim.

A beautiful and uncommon Derby basket-molded stand, or undertray, with a scalloped rim and a basket-weave border, The center is painted with fruit in shades of yellow, iron-red, puce, green, and brown. Surrounding the center, and on the border, are insects painted in a variety of colors. The underside of the stand has 5 patch marks.

Frequently, when referring to Derby, the literature, or catalogs, have references to "the moth painter," or the "principal fruit painter," or the like...

19th century Chinese scholar’s rock / brush rest in a form of a piece of malachite perfectly resembling a range of hills covered with green vegetation. Also resembles a snail or a traveling caterpillar, can be viewed from two sides. Shape and colors may suggest a characteristic Guilin landscape of limestone peaks. Excellent natural stone with pleasant patina, fixed in carved fitted rosewood stand. Wonderful object for contemplation on scholar’s desk. Height with stand 2 7/8 inches.
