This superb ivory carving of a Chinese legendary figure Tie Gui Li is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is 11 3/4” tall (including base); without the base it is 10” high, 2 3/4” wide and 2 1/8” in depth. The statue presents a legendary Chinese character who is a member of the eight immortals. A most beautiful, most impressive, large underglaze blue and white decorated bowl from the Ming Dynasty, Wanli Period ( 1573 - 1620 )
The Cobalt blue is excellent, the decoration of the Ducks in a Lotus-pond is superb.

Condition : There is one old secured crack to the wall of the bowl but there is also still a bright " Ping " tone when tapped.
No chips, extremely minute fritting to the rim (actually not really worth mentioning).
An unusual deep square moulded bowl with a slightly everted rim decorated both to the exterior and the interior with stylised dragon and floral motifs within iron red grounds and leaf and lotus motifs to the corners.

A sometsuke dish of twelve sided dodecagonal form painted in a refined Kakiemon style. The rim border is divided into six fan shaped panels decorated with three sets of alternating floral compositions featuring respectively Bamboo, take, Peonies and rocks, botan, and shibagaki Brushwood fences. The centre painted with Cherry trees and a formal balustrades.
The reverse is decorated with a Kraak style pattern of strapwork divisions and stylised flowers...

There is a fine, lightly stained crackle to the interior and exterior base. This piece was made for domestic use in Japan and was not intended for export. Overall good condition. Purchased in Kyoto ca. 1974.

A very finely potted and finely painted blue and white vase depicting three five-clawed dragons, amongst cloud scrolls, in pursuit of flaming pearls and above stylized breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but, after three years deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that this item was probably made later, circa 1880-1920, during the late Qing or early Republic periods...

A rare and beautiful double series opaque twist wine glass. The bowl, of uncommon tulip form, sits atop a stem containing two heavy spiral threads around a central gauze. What makes this glass rare, aside from the bowl shape, is that, opposed to being conical, as is usually the case, the foot is domed, a feature very rarely found on opaque twist glasses.
This fine example is 6 1/8" tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 7/16", and a foot diameter of 2 5/8"...
