An example of “Kenjo” Imari presentation ware, having high quality enamel decoration in reds, green, aubergine and gilding surrounding underglaze cobalt blue. There is a fine, lightly stained crackle to the interior and exterior base. This piece was made for domestic use in Japan and was not intended for export. Overall good condition. Purchased in Kyoto ca. 1974.

Antique Japanese ojime (toggle bead) in the form of Bodhi Darma (Daruma), shakudo (an alloy of gold and copper) with a red face , carved with incredible detail, wonderful expression, Meiji Period.
Size: 11/16 of an inch high.
An interesting bronze mirror with its original lead handle. This is rare as most of the time the lead handles have been replaced because the original has disintegrated. Diameter 14 cm, Length 21 cm. Mounted on a museum quality stand.

A sometsuke dish of twelve sided dodecagonal form painted in a refined Kakiemon style. The rim border is divided into six fan shaped panels decorated with three sets of alternating floral compositions featuring respectively Bamboo, take, Peonies and rocks, botan, and shibagaki Brushwood fences. The centre painted with Cherry trees and a formal balustrades.
The reverse is decorated with a Kraak style pattern of strapwork divisions and stylised flowers...

An unusual deep square moulded bowl with a slightly everted rim decorated both to the exterior and the interior with stylised dragon and floral motifs within iron red grounds and leaf and lotus motifs to the corners.

The Cobalt blue is excellent, the decoration of the Ducks in a Lotus-pond is superb.

Condition : There is one old secured crack to the wall of the bowl but there is also still a bright " Ping " tone when tapped.
No chips, extremely minute fritting to the rim (actually not really worth mentioning).

This is Japanese meiji zanshi weave noragi hanten textile. It does not have a stain and damage and is in a very good state.Zanshi, or kuzuito, is cloth that is woven from threads either leftover from home production of yarn making, or from broken threads that were purchased from local commercial weavers.

This bottle is covered overall in a thick, even oxblood glaze. The copper colorant has drained slightly down from the mouth leaving a narrow band of white glaze that continues into the mouth for a short distance; otherwise, the interior appears to be unglazed. The base has a yellowish iron oxide dressing and the footring is unglazed. Excess glaze that ran onto the foot was ground off after the firing...

A good abalone shaped, awabi-gata, Ko Imari dish decorated in some-nishikide style with a sansui style Landscape. The reverse decorated in under-glaze blue with boats and islands and within the foot-ring and within a single ring a mountain fuku, good fortune, mark.
The dish measures 6.5 inches or 16.5cm in length and 5.125 inches or 13cm in width, and 1.5 inches or 4cm in height, and is in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
