This antique Japanese Marquetry box is a good example of the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail that marked the Japanese Meiji Period. The sides of the lid have scalloped opening which ease the removal opening of the box which was probably designed for glove storage. 10.5 x 3.5 x 3.75 inches

Antique Japanese solid ebony hardwood cha tansu, for storing and displaying tea ceremony articles. The top of the piece has a wide compartment behind two sliding panel doors, with two open shelves below. Its sides are carved with a reticulated honeycomb design. The bottom of the chest has two Persimmon burl sliding panels opening to a lovely shelved interior with foliate carved paneling and two small drawers.

Antique Japanese rare Funa tansu from Fukushima, made of Kiri (paulownia) wood. All original condition/finish. Five drawers of various size in front with simplistic iron hardware and four locks. Each drawer has it's own key.

Edo Period (1605-1868)

A Royal Worcester 6-1/4" face or mask jug with gold made in 1897. This exquisitely detailed jug has superb hand applied gold decoration in the form of wild daisies with yellow and reddish centers along with wild grasses. The gold is thickly applied with ridges and jewelling and the ornate handle is gold as well. The mask or face on the spout is crisp and detailed and this jug has the Grainger Royal Worcester China Works mark with the G year code for 1897...

Samson of Paris, 19th century: a large godrooned dish, hand painted in the style of Watteau with a courting couple in a pastoral landscape surrounded by flowers, Deutsche Blumen. Flat back with the gilt wheel mark for Höchst /Hoechst 1765-74. Diameter "10¼/ 26,3 cm. Condition: a chip to the rim (cf. pics).

Antique Japanese deep small tansu made entirely of Kiri (paulownia) wood. All original finish with natural patina front and red lacquer top and sides. A variety of drawers in unusual formation provide neatly organized storage of small treasures.

A rare LAOTIAN BRONZE BUDDHA IN DEEP MEDITATION (MARA VIJAYA). Difficult to find genuine Bronze Buddhas from Laos as most were made of wood because of the high cost and especially in this pose/position. Very good condition overall, late 18th Century. Size: 23.3 cm. x 12.6 cm. (9.25" x 4.75"inches). Origin: Private Collection Laos. RARE!

A very rare Giant Size Dry Lacquer Buddha Head on a custom made base (can be removed), Shan State, Burma, 19th Century. Very nice smooth Patina, some inconsequential wear, especially to individual hair curls, but excellent overall condition as shown. The Ushnisha or Flame on the top of the head is removable and most likely from a later date as is typical of such venerated Buddha images. Guaranteed 19th Century. A. H. Heisey & Company beautiful pressed glass pitcher with open work silver floral design on the rim. The bottom has the "H" maker's mark inclosed in a diamond shape. Age: Pre 1920. Size: H.23cm. Diameter at the base. 13cm. Condition: Almost mint. Some minor scratches on the bottom.

A strictly museum quality, large pottery figure of a male attendant, dating to the mid Ming Dynasty, ca. 1500 AD.

The figure stands on a large Lotus throne on top of high hexagonal plint in fine Sancai colours - a two-colour blue and torqoise glazed robe. Under his arm he holds a bottle.

He wears a high hat. Finely painted facial details. Lotus thrones are very rare for Ming pottery figures...

Pair French 18th century Louise XV pier mirror, gilt and patinated Polychrome pale green painted on wood, 40" high, 15" wide, 1 1/2" deep, with carved low relief gold fluted decorated frame on top. Mirror plate is one(1) piece with blackened spots(picture shows horizontal line near the bottom area which is reflection of the room background), and backing is original wooden boards with square steel nails. There are some gesso chips off from the original finish...

A “Gosho Ningyo” doll of a plump kneeling male child carrying a “hyotan” gourd. The large gourd symbolizes health, vitality, prosperity and immortality. The kneeling boy is wearing a bib with painted accents in white, green, navy blue, brown and gold pigments. There are two ties in the back for the bib. The hyotan (gourd) is also painted in greens, navy-blues, gold and grey of 3-leafed motifs that appear to be paulownia flowers...

Federal period Gilded on Wood Pier Mirror or Looking Glass, 53" high-top crown, 27" wide-top maximum, 24" wide-side, with thin mercury darkened original mirrored finish plate, except upper mirror plate maybe replaced long time ago, relief decoration of Eagle in the center on top between gold balls attached hanging from the top, and original wooden backing boards in the back...

A stone carved Han lion scratching his ear used as a weight. These weights were used to hold down the corners of tents and other tied down items.The ropes were tied to the leg that is scratching the ear. Size: L.20cm. W. 9.5cm.Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

A dated Chinese glass snuff bottle, overlaid with a decoration of flowers and insects.This documentary bottle bears the Bing Shen year corresponding to 1836 and its fine and detailed lapidary work makes it a highly desirable object. size: 2 1/4 inches high (6 cm). Age; 1836. condition : very good, a small section of the raised coloured ring at the base is missing. The blue glass cover is lacking its spoon.

Small wine cup and saucer of octagonal shape, decorated in under-glaze blue with lotus scrolls and flowers in panels. Kangxi to Yongzheng period, early 18th century. Diameter of saucer "4/ 10,5 cm, of cup "2 ¼ / 6 cm, height of cup: "1 ½ / 3,6 cm. Condition: a chip to the foot rim of the cup and a smaller one to the outer rim of the saucer (cf. photos).

The exterior chiselled and engraved, the neck with a band of nasta'liq inscription and the body with lattice containing flowerheads. Quatrefoil with owner's or maker's name. Condition: traces of usage, rubbing to tinning. Dimension: diameter: 28.5 cm, 15 cm high.
