Early 1800s

This tall, unusual stand is decorated with cobalt blue under the glaze and with overglaze enamels in iron-red, green, and gold. It has four large cutouts on the sides, revealing the interior that is glazed white. The cut edges of the open cartouches are dressed with gilt enamel as is also the top rim. The footrim is unglazed, exposing the white porcelain body. It is in very good condition with no repairs or damages, with only minor wear to the enamels...

Rather unusual late 19th century (late Qing Dynasty) Chinese wooden brush rest carved in a form of a stylized rectangular section bamboo stem terminating with a peach on one end and a pomegranate on the other. Very unusual feature of two tiny elongated drawers coming out of the sides of the brush rest - probably meant for storing small items like tiny brushes or inksticks. A cup & stand was well preserved.
It was heavily potted and was applied with greenish glaze.
The characteristic marks of wiring-cutting were left at the bottom. It was a typical method by cutting the vessel from the wheel with a thread or a wire.

Date: Souther/Northern Dynasties, 5th Century.

Classic Olmec los Bocas figure. 1200 B.C.E. -500 B.C.E. this excellently crafted figure has faint traces of red pigment with mineral deposits. He (no breasts, or sexual elements) is wearing a helmet or headdress, with what appears to be some form of jewelry over his nose or upper lip. this piece is all intact with no visible repairs, small amount of normal chipping around nose and feet. A superb and extremely large Chaffers Liverpool porcelain tankard with a slightly spreading base. Beautifully painted with a large bouquet of flowers on the side opposite the strapped handle, with 4 sprigs of different flowers placed, at a distance, at each of the four corners of the central painting, near where the handle joins the body of the piece.

The tankard is 5 5/8" tall, with a top diameter of 3 5/8" and a bottom diameter of 3 3/4"...
