Antique Japanese copper hanging lamp, Meiji period, 1868-1912. This is a beautiful lantern with panels decorated with peonies in a field of arabesques. Three smaller hanging blossoms hang off the top of the lantern. The lantern has two doors that open and are fastened shut with a decorated arm. The lower register is decorated with panels incised with a repeating wave design. The feet of the lantern are petal or leaf shaped, decorated with an incised arabesque design...

This is a finely carved 19th century Japanese netsuke depicting a charming dog holding its paws atop a awabi shell while playing with it. Very nice hair work. Eyes inlaid with stag horn. Netsuke measures 1.50 inches (3.8cm) wide, and 1.10 inches (2.8cm) tall. Unsigned.

Actually, this type ware is often mistakenly referred to as Leeds and featheredge. In reality, many factories other than Leeds made items of this nature, and the type edge here is more properly called a molded edge; elaborate raised tree and floral decoration; 10" diameter. Excellent condition.

Chogappo made of fragments of choma (ramie), one of bast fibers, which is recycled from vegetable indigo dyed choma, and it has beautiful nuance of different indigo colors. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments. Standing on a modern circular wooden base with his right hand raised in abhaya mudra and his left arm at the shoulder. Wearing a sanghati draped over his left shoulder and finely pleated in undulating folds. His serene face with downcast eyes, with long pierced earlobes and his hair surmounted by a flame-shaped finial.

A Chinese hand painted porcelain miniature sleeve vase with bird scenes. Some minor wear to the enamels, otherwise condition very good, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines. Vase measures 3.5" high and dates circa 1880. A lovely piece to add to your collection.

This 19th century Chinese molded ceramic statue is 8 ¾ inches high, 7 ¼ inches wide and 3 ½ inches thick. It depicts a sitting young boy holding a frog. There is a square maker’s mark “Yi He” stamped on the bottom. The statue has its original leather and silk box from Spink and Son’s. It is in excellent condition.

Three perfume bottles: a green and white opaline overlay, cut and gilt bottle, an English white opaline and painted bottle and a brown clear glass bottle, cut and decorated in gilt. All three late 19th century, the first and last probably Bohemian. Height "3 ½ - 5 ¼ / 9 – 13 cm. No stoppers. Condition of all three: fine.
