This uncommon and molded example has a looped stem handle, and is decorated inside and out with scattered flower sprigs and insects, finished with raised fruit near the handle juncture. An antique Japanese Sakata Chobako (merchant box) made of Hinoki (Cypress) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware and natural acquired patina. Two full length drawers used to store calligraphy brushes, paper and documents for easy access when conducting merchant transactions.

The small jade carving is 2” long, 1 ¼” wide and 1” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It depicts a smiling fisherman. On one hand, he is holding his long beard; in the other he is holding a string of Ling Zhi (lucky mushrooms). A turtle and a fish appear on the fisherman’s back carved from dark brown part of the stone. It is in excellent condition.
A fine Chinese snuff bottle made from Carnelian, well hollowed. One side carved in relief with a bird on a rock beneath a bat, the backside engraved with a ruyi scepter. The stopper is made from white jadeit with a green spot and a bone spoon. Condition: the stopper eventually not original, traces of usage. Dimension: c. 6.2 cm high.
Unusual 19th century kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) netsuke with copper bowl and mixed metal top depicting a tiger on rocks with bamboo grass and a dragon holding a Precious Gem in flight among swirling clouds: the two appear ready to engage in a fight. Very nice pairing of the most powerful Zodiac animals, bronze disc with gilding, eyes of both beasts are inlaid with shakudo with its characteristic strong black color...

This is a very beautiful and finely potted Qing dynasty famille noir mille fleurs (Thousand Flowers) plate. It is painted very densely with shades of enameled pink, yellow, blue, brown, white and green with multitude of flowers and plants. It includes peonies, lotus, hydrangea, chrysanthemum, narcissus, daisies, lily, hibiscus, iris and several other flowers covering the entire plate in black background, with the foliage and gold tendrils binding all the flowers together...

Applied wraparound horned and taloned dragon. For piquant condiments. Marks include stamp for Tien Shing, who was active in Hong Kong in the third-quarter of the 19th century. Very good condition. One pot has a detachable clear glass liner.

This mid. 19th century Japanese Imari (Aka-e) vase is almost 10 ½” high and 4 ¾” on widest part. There are two sections; one depicts a painted phoenix, butterfly and maple tree, the other depicts a geisha holding an umbrella standing in front of iris and hanging flowers. The rest of the vase is decorated with floral and textile designs. It is in perfect condition.

Unusual 19th century netsuke of a cloth Daruma doll with wonderful inquisitive face and a shaped opening on the back with anabori (cavern carving) of a palace with a procession of scholars crossing a bridge and pavilions in the back. The cavern is carved unusually deep, and pavilions in the back are very well defined, almost impossible to photograph properly. This early 20th century yellow vase mounted as a table lamp is 20” high, 6 ¼” wide and 4 ½” in depth. The vase is 8 ¼” high, 5” wide and 3 ½” in depth. On both the front and back, it depicts a 5 clawed dragon floating between the ocean and the clouds. Eight immortal symbols are on both sides. The vase had been drilled and mounted on a cut out and embossed brass base. It is in great condition.

A very very rare "Dancer" figure from Teotihuacan of the Classic period 300 AD-900 AD. What makes this figure so special is the remarkably detailed and expressive face of this "Dancer". What makes it so rare is that the head, body, arms and legs are all matching even though the arms and head have been reattached when the figure was found. A fine Georgian mahogany rectangular tea caddy with bail handle and diamond shaped lock escutcheon. The interior is fitted with 2 compartments for holding tea, and a center receptacle for the cut glass mixing bowl which we deem to be of the period. Gold accents which we do not believe are inlays decorate the edges of the ivory knop lids.
Condition is very good meaning that the wood has occasional blemishes, and the interior lining appears to be later than original, though still old. Overall...
