A very unusual & original Han well with the "jing" design, symbol for well and two intertwined snakes for the handle. There is some iridescence at the bottom of the base of the green glaze from age. Exquisite pair of lacquered wood temple lotus offering stands in lotus motif. The Lotus is the penultimate buddhist symbal of purity. The base is a lotus with lotus flowers on the stem and lotus cup at the top. Minor lacquer wear but in fabulous condition for its Meiji Period C.1890 age. 12" tall and 6" wide.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Austria by Ernst Wahliss around 1900. The saucer has a diameter of 6 inches and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The set is quatrefoil in shape. The porcelain is highly translucent. It is decorated with delicate gilding, matte gold and shiny gold, reminiscent of Russian enamel work. The gilded ornaments contain tiny flowers in pastel colored cartouches. It is a delight to the senses to touch and see such splendid artistry...

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this fragmented, but still lovely Egyptian blue faience offering cup with cartouche. The back and part of the lower portion is missing, however the front containing the cartouche of the pharaoh is still intact. The cartouche is highlighted in black and appears to contain the cartouche of Amenhotep. The vessel measures 2" in height, plus the size of the base. A Dutch delft heart shaped strainer on three short pointed feet and with attached handles at either end. Old Pat Guthman Antiques label on the base with the price of $550. 3inches (7.5 cm) tall, 5 inches (12.5 cm) wide and 7 ½ (19 cm)inches long.

Condition: Minor glaze chips, a small chip to the body on the underside and part of one foot missing. Good condition for the age and the softness of tin glazed earthenware.

This Tibetan shrine shaped gau (aka prayer box) is actually a religious shrine. When not being worn as an ornament during festivals, it would be kept in the prayer niche of the family home.
