Olmec Jade Greenston Pendants (4). Mexico. Circa. 900 - 600 B.C. 2 1/8” x 2 3/14” L.
Provenance: Estat of Carol Meyer, NYC. Each in the form of Jaguar’s claws, or teeth with curving, tapered ends. Four of the jades formed with concave reverse, each pierced for suspension. Four now strung on a modern gold chain, as pendants to a necklace. All are in excellent condition.
This is a very fine and unusual Japanese Satsuma vase with relief figures. The work on this piece is highly detailed and the gold thickly applied. The Dragon and clouds are decorated with silver. The piece is in very good condition will minor wear. The Artist signature is the most worn area on the piece. With magnification it can be seen that it is signed Fuzan but it is very hard to make out. I have included a similar Fuzan mark for comparison. The vase stands 8 1/2 inches tall.

The Guanyin is seated in rajalitasana, royal ease, on a pierced rockwork base with one leg lowered and the other with knee raised supporting the right arm, the face carved with a poised and calm expression, wearing a tiara and loose robes falling over the shoulders and open at the chest to reveal an elaborate beaded necklace.

This is a woman's shift ("kurta") from Swat Valley, Pakistan. It measures 125 cm from one sleeve extended to the other; the gusset measures 24 cm; the bust 57 cm. From top shoulder to bottom hem it measures 91 cm. The sleeve opening is 17 cm. The embroidery technique is pink and red floss silk on indigo-dyed and black cotton depicting geometric shapes typical of the embroidery of the Swat Valley. Condition of this textile is excellent. Estimated age: mid to late 20th century.

This item was made in China in the late Qing period - the characters carved into the top read "Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" which translates as "Made in the Guangxu reign Qing dynasty" (1875-1908). A charming porcelain statue was rarely found from an old collection.
In amusing subject of Mother and Child, this statue was put in the famous Chinese antique magazine Art and Collection - May edition, to celebrate the international Mother's Day of May.
It was well preserved without any crack-lines and was free from any restorations.
Of course, due to long time of burial, some abrasions were caused to the surface (see details).

This impressive 2 3/4" sterling silver cuff studded with 30 amethyst cabs was hallmarked c. 1940 by Manuel Altamirano, senior silversmith in Hector Aguilar's Taller Borda. Interior length measures 5 1/2" end to end. The gap opening is 1 1/2". Terminals measure 2 3/4" wide, center front is 2 1/2" wide. Weight 79 grams. The bracelet is in beautiful condition.
