Rare Large Chinese Han Dynasty Glazed Granary with Cover
This large and impressive pottery vessel was made some 2,000 years ago during the latter part of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8), the short-lived Xin Dynasty (AD 9 - 25) or the early Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25 - 220). It is very similar to other large amber-glazed granaries excavated from a tomb in Xi'an dated to the Xin Dynasty (AD 9 - 25).

19th century Satsuma vase of classic shape with painted enamel decoration of the Buddha surrounded by 7 rakan (original disciples), several female disciples and a boy attendant, with buildings, clouds and lotus flowers in the background. The Buddha is protected by a relief gold enameled dragon encircling the vase in its upper part. This ceramic vase was produced in what was then known as Bohemia at the Turn-Teplitz factory in 1906-07. The artist is identified as Paul Dachel, shown in plate 514, in the book “House of Amphora”. This vase is 6 1/2 inches high and the diameter is 5 3/4 inches. It has four handles connecting the double gourd shape. There are gilded knobs sprouting around the top. This Porcelain Manufacturer around 1900. The saucer has a diameter of 4 ½ inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The cup features 3 feet and a graceful, curved handle. The two pieces have wonderful hand painting. Wreaths and swags of colorful flowers are suspended from the rims of each porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Kestner piece. This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1880s or earlier. The plate measures 8 inches in diameter. The border has a hand cut, 1 ½ inch reticulated border. The center has 3 cherubs, painted in puce. There are 3 reserves around the border containing sprays of flowers. The reticulation is outlined in gold and there are gilded accents.

A fantastic completely matched set of 8 earlier bronze opium weights, all from the same undertype of To's (Straigt up tail and 4-rays), (King Alaungpaya), ca. 1750 AD.

19th century wooden netsuke of a sitting boy wearing a shishi mask that is too big for him and hitting a drum in front of him with a striker. 19th century boxwood netsuke of Jurojin (one of the 7 Gods of Good Luck, usually associated with longevity) leaning on a long gnarled staff and accompanied by one of his familiars - a crane (symbol of longevity).
