A carved sandstone Khmer relief fragment in (Mahayana Buddhist) Angkor Wat style depicting a Buddha head under two parasols, flanked by a pair of fans and mounted on stand. This item was carved in what is now Cambodia, probably during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1215 AD). An antique jade stone with landscape pattern in it
1800 - 1850. Each side decorated in iron-red with Zhong Kui, on one main side the bearded, wild-eyed "Demon Queller" is shown dressed as a warrior and brandishing his sword, on the other main side he is shown dressed as a scholar and holding a closed folding-fan in his right hand. Daoguang period. Coral stopper.

Antique Japanese lacquer suzuri bako (writing box) and matching large stationary box inspired by Korin Ogata of the Rinpa School tradition. American Brilliant Cut Glass Pitcher richly cut with deep vessicas, stars, and other embellishments. The bulbous body tapers to wide neck with scalloped rim. The attached heavily faceted handle has a flat top. The underside has 32 point star. The blank is very clear. Condition is superb. Marked Libbey on the handle top.
This pitcher is a superior example of brilliant cut glass in general but of hollow ware in particular.

Antique medieval 10th century A.D. (288 AH – 391 AH) Samanid Dynasty (819–999 AD) Samarkand, Central Asia, calligraphic slip-painted Islamic pottery bowl of a conical form on a short foot. The center is decorated in a dark brown with Arabic Kufic calligraphy and a single band of Kufic inscription below the rim over a cream ground.
Most of these types of bowls are decorated with the Arabic inscription Kufic only around the rim or only in the center of the interior...

The two-tiered round mochi(round rice cake) called "Kagami-mochi",Ise lobster, bitter orange and green leaves. Painted with ink and pigments on paper. Sealed. The piece has been restored and remounted with beautiful old silk fabric, and futai tassels have been also reused from the old piece. It is inscribed Motonobu on the lid of the storage box.
The subject depicted is an offering made to welcome the New Year's god "Toshigami", and all of the decorations have a meaning...
Antique Japanese tsuba done in the finest craftsmanship. Made of iron with extensive shakudo nanako plate overall and with many gold blossoms. A motif of very detailed chrysanthemums densely covers both sides of the tsuba. The view in general would be titled, "Kikka Senpi zu" or Chrysanthemums in full bloom. Age: Possibly Momoyama Period. Bust of Buddha, his face reflecting a profound inner serenity. Bronze with encrusted dark and reddish green patina. Thailand, Ayutthaya Period, Ca. 16th century. Height: 8 1/4" (21 cm). The bust is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Good condition. NOTE: a bronze plate was welded to the back of the bust, probably early 20th century, to allow the bust to be attached to a former stand, now gone (see photos). Ex. old French collection.
