A small, low, Chinese table that was used on the Kang for eating, reading, writing, etc. The table has been decorated on all sides and on the legs with fax bamboo carvings. The table is made of hongmu, a tropical hard wood, that was very popular in the 19th Century. The table measures about 29 1/2" long x 10 3/4" tall x 16" wide, and dates to the Quangxu Period (1875-1908)...

Nine small brass weights originating from the African Gold Coast. The top decorated with different geometric ornaments as spirals, waves, swastika etc. Used for weighing gold dust which for centuries was the currency of the region. Largest weight adjusted to standard with lead. Condition: fine. Dimension: largest: 3.2 cm x 3.4 cm.

Jar with a bulbous body and a flaring neck. Ceramic, with an unusual reddish glaze (most similar jars of this period are green color). Remnants of soil encrustations. Condition: a hairline to the bowl and an old restoration to the border of the dish (cf. pics).

This is a beautiful and unique cloisonne box. It has great workmanship and a beautiful rare deep purple ground color. It is not signed but was probably created by Hayashi or Kinuken. It is a little bigger than most boxes measuring 5 3/4 inches by 4 5/8 inches and 2 5/8 inches tall. Has a scratch on the underside shown in the images. This special box is from a spectacular Cloisonne collection and acquired almost 50 years ago.
