This is mikuni-sashiko Indigo dye cotton noragi (Work clothes)textile of the Meiji era(1868-1912). It is cotton and sashiko stitch of very beautiful indigo dyeing. I can enjoy it with the both sides. It is very rare textile. I recommend it to collection of you. This is textile made in Fukui region. All this sashiko stitches are made by hand. It does not have a stain and damage. Needlework sampler, 22 1/2" by 17" (26" by 20" framed), the design incorporating the alphabet, floral motifs, a heart, four paired figures and a house. Condition is excellent, the colors not faded. This would date to circa 1970's; a so-called "Paragon" kit available at the time. Nice decorative piece for the Americana or folk art setting.

Highly interesting collectors lot of three different types of stamp seals, Anatolia, 3rd.-1st. millenium BC.

The lot includes a scarce 2nd. millenium Hittite type of 4-side stamp with 4 different impressions of humans and plants, a triangular seal with a knob handle and engraved with a floral pattern and lastly, a cone-shaped seal with round base engraved with scriptssigns(?). All carved in black serpentine.

Netsuké carved in stag antler or deer horn,very simple but compact in shape and with a very nice patina. Very pleasant to hold in the palm of the hand. It represents a Chinese child lying on a drum. For the Chinese New Year the children drummed to cast out demons. Probably our little boy is resting on his drum after having accomplished his mission? Interesting lot of 4 ancient weights of different usage, Greek and roman, 3rd. cent. BC-3rd. cent. AD.

Lot includes to fine Greek larger stone weights, with loops at the top weighing 33.57 grams, and possible used for weaving, a pendant shaped lead weight with loop, Roman and finally another Roman weight of bronze shaped as a bird and weighing 33,76 grams.

Buddhist lion in gilded bronze. Japanese work from the Edo period (17 ° -19 °) difficult to date with precision.
