Very rare and unusual wood tiled village shrine from Dema - mura village in Mie Province. Dated the year of the tiger C.1818 the shrine houses gods and happiness. Signed on the back with the date and maker, Fujiwara Shokichi. Cypress wood with a bronze lock on the doors to the inner chamber. Antique Chinese pair of beautiful hardwood cabinets (jumu wood) with open display shelves that have carved side panels with dragons and flora. Its two swinging doors with dramatic woodgrain open with brass fittings and have a roomy, shelved interior within. The finish of the wood is deep red with brown-orange highlights. 19th century.

The animal has an elegantly decorated harness and saddlecloth, and stands on a pedestal. Although it has been stained for effect, it has also developed a warm patina...

This barrel-shaped ‘Fustat bead’ is made of six sections of spiral mosaic cane laid next to each other longitudinally in alternating directions, creating a zigzag effect. The striping is the same in all cane sections—wide black, thin red, wide brown, thin red—only the direction changes. The core of the twisted cane sections, visible in cross-section at the ends of the bead, is translucent pale green. There is no core bead, the cane sections themselves were shaped into a bead...

This tea pot is inscribed with Chinese characters on one side, and has a bamboo motif incised on the opposite side. The handle and spout are sculpted to represent knotty tree limbs, and the lid is carved with leaves and stems. The maker's seal is impressed on the interior of the lid. It is in good condition and was acquired from my grandmother's antique shop in the mid 1960s.

This is a japanese antique very rare Ramie( choma )child kimono used for edo in Kyoto. This is dyed in natural indigo plant and Benibana. This is colored the both sides into in Katozome. This hemp is spun by hand. This has five places of small stains, but does not stand out. There is no damage really. The state is complete. Size 123cmx 121cm (38.1 "x 38.9 ")

Unusual 19th century (can be 18th century as is often a case with Chinese pewter) Chinese pewter altar vase for holding incense sticks, inlaid with brass on one side with three tiers depicting (from bottom towards the top): 1. Lotus leaves and bud issuing from a pond, 2. A deep with a flaming roundel above it, 3. Three birds on a gnarled flowering prunus tree issuing from rocks. Vertical sides of all the flanges are inlaid with brass as well...
Inside of ring has embedded pipe scale from the glass working process and exterior layer of glass has stress crack with small chip missing...stress crack would also be from glass making process...
but ring has been stable for couple of centuries...ring was bought in South China late 90s along with several other rings (all stone and sold) but this one was so unusual that I kept it ...really is lovely

Probably made in the Longquan kilns, this bowl is of flaring conical form and has incised longitudinal lines on the exterior. The exterior is glazed in pale olive-green celadon and the glaze stops well above the foot. The foot and base are unglazed, exposing the light-gray porcelaneous body. The interior is glazed throughout. There is a small chip to the outer rim. Purchased in Kyoto, Japan around 1975.
