Belt hook nicely carved in the shape of a dragon. Light green jade. China, 19th century or earlier. Length: 9,2 cm. Remnants of soil encrustations suggesting a rather long stay underground, otherwise very good condition.

A blue and White baluster shaped vase is from the early 19th Century,decorated two ladys and child play on the garden. Vase in good conditions, it's just the cover has retoration.30 cm hight, 1,5 cm body diameter.

A rare stoneware pitcher with salt glaze. Full-bellied shape with wide conical neck and flat handle. The base is festooned with “thumb” marks. The body is decorated with three medallions depicting a woman. A type called Trichterhalskrug in German. This stoneware pitcher was made in the Siegburg region in the 15th/16th century. It is covered with a fine salt glaze.

Chinese Blue and White Transitional Mustard Pot decorated with floral sprays C1640/50. Height 4 1/2" (11.3cm). Condition; some light fritting to rim and handle, otherwise perfect.

19th century kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) netsuke with metal top depiction a tiger on rocks by the sea and a dragon in flight among swirling clouds about to engage in a fight. Very nice pairing of most powerful Zodiac animals, bronze disc with gilding, tiger is inlaid with shakudo (alloy of copper and gold) with characteristic black patination resembling lacquer. Excellent crisp work, some wear to gilding on the dragon, marine material bowl with typical lines on the outside...

Yuan dynasty double gourd shape ewer decorated with iron red spoted and moulded sea dragon as a handle. Ewer has damaged at the bottom and spout on restorations. (Please contact us for more large picture). 14 cm high.

A Very Fine and Beautiful White Glazed/High Footed Bowl-19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The medium sized bowl, set on a slightly flared high ring footed and with slightly everted mouth rim, decorated in a beautiful white with a very slight blue-tinge , warm and clear glaze applied overall evenly, with firing sand traces on the foot rim. It’s in very fine condition without any damages at all. Measurements: 8.7cm h. x 15.3cm d.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this fragmented, but still lovely Egyptian blue faience offering cup with cartouche. The back and part of the lower portion is missing, however the front containing the cartouche of the pharaoh is still intact. The cartouche is highlighted in black and appears to contain the cartouche of Amenhotep. The vessel measures 2" in height, plus the size of the base. This is a fine antique Japanese cloisonne vase with a midnight blue background and 11 flying sparrows. The birds are well done and there appears to be movement when looking at this piece. The vase looks great but it has a unique hard to see fill to a chip with a short line next to it(see the last image). The vase has not been sprayed. The vase stands 6 inches tall.

Distressed Japanese Iki mask with crystal eyes. Gofun finish over dry lacquer composition. Details including veins, wrinkles and furrows. The surface is in a distressed state with significant losses and some 'alligatored' texture possibly from exposure to elements. Would make a worthy conservation project for someone with the patience to recoat and touch up losses (the missing left ear being most challenging.) Length, about 9 1/4 inches (23.49 cm)

Japanese Porcelain Blue and White large Hibachi with cut out handle on both side and rounded deep top rim, Ca. 1900, 12" high, 19" diameter outer size, with rounded curved inside to make round top rim, underglaze blue and white design is bold and large, covers entire side with pine tree, steep streams in large scale of natural landscape. The handles on both side is cut out from the main body makes easier to lift and handle the heavy piece of Hibachi. The condition is good, no damages.

Cast bronze censer. Thick and heavy. It rests on 4 feet. The simply twisted handles seem to be part of the one and the same casting which would be a technical feat because I don't see any traces or rivets or welds. A frieze of stylized flowers surrounds the upper body. On the front part, the prestigious mark of Emperor Xuande cast in high relief is probably apocryphal. The exterior of the censer must have been regularly cleaned because the metal bears no patina except in the hollows of the patte...

B.1869 - d. 1945, Tsukitani was a flamboyant woman potter breaking through the often stiff men's world of pottery. Her peak period was ca.1915 -ca.1932. Her work is known as "Tsukitani ware". An antique Japanese Ko Tansu (personal storage chest) made entirely of Suginoki (Cryptomeria) wood. Original wiped Urushi lacquer technique finish with original hand made iron hardware including Gumbai handles. Constructed using straight dovetail joinery with hardened wood nails.

Contemporary uses for this chest include making a lovely side table or a useful and functional bedside stand and cabinet.

This late 19th or early 20th century Mille Fleurs (thousand flowers) brush holder is 5 inches high and 2 ¾ inches in diameter. It depicts peony, chrysanthemum, lily, hibiscus, iris and several unknown flowers covering the entire body. There is a blue endless square cloud pattern on the rim. There is a red honorable Qian Long mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

This antique Japanese Edo Period c.1840 red bronze utsubata flower vase is actually a Japanese proverb, "Hyotan Kara Koma". Literally, 'a horse from a gourd' meaning "the unexpected can be wonderful". The base of the vase is a wisteria wrapped gourd with an old man climbing on it. It was made so his head can move.
