Late Meiji (1890s to 1912) Japanese temple boxwood seal of round section with original boxwood cover. Excellent quality crisp carving in seal script, old red seal paste in the grooves. Plastic peg indicates the position of the top of the imprint. Beautiful patina on the surface of wood, signs of use adding to the presence of the object. A Chinese Qingbai Glazed Ewer. Circa, 10th-12th Century, Song Dynasty. Found in the Philippines. Featuring a baluster shaped body and a waisted neck flaring to a wide trumpet mouth with an applied straight handle, curving inward to where it is attached on the top, opposite its short curved spout. It is decorated with carved vertical lines, chambering its body and is covered overall in a green-white “Qingbai-type” of glaze. Its base remains fully unglazed...

Unusual 1890s - 1910s (late Meiji - early Taisho) Japanese wooden nyoi - a Buddhist scepter - made out of a natural branch or root, its head with wonderful pattern of roiling clouds. Nyoi, or Ruyi scepter is a traditional symbol of scholarship and transmission of knowledge. Lacquered in Negoro style with bright red body and black patch on the head. Nice striated wood surface texture of the branch, wonderful patina, very pleasant to the touch...

Good and rare model of an old man, figure of chinese sage, standing and leaning to the right,, his hand on his beard and smiling wearing a beautiful large patterned robe. A dog is sitting at his feet. In the Behrens catalogue by Henri Joly, a similar exemple is represented as Wei Peh-Yang, from the Han dynasty.
