An antique Japanese Ikebana basket in a Cornucopia open flared mouth design tapering to a four post square base. Finely woven using a two tone caramel colored split bamboo with binding weaves forming frogs and turtles. Each post has inset caterpillar weave and the base has a cross slatted split bamboo that was signed by the artist. The handle is comprised of three delicate bamboo branches each of differing sizes representing a child, an adolescent, and an adult...
Antique porcelain bowl in traditional blue and white style, in which ground cobalt is used for the blue underglaze. Around the sides and inside the bowl are flying dragons with sharp claws and cloud designs. Mark on bottom reading "Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi", or "Great Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period, Made".Dates from the early 20th century.

18th Century Japanese Wood Tall Netsuke: Gama Sennin
18th Century, excellently hand-carved Boxwood Netsuke depicting a standing Gama, wearing the typical mugwort cape with wide sleeves, and a rope tied at his waist, holding a staff with his right hand, and carrying a three-legged toad (that possesses magical powers) on top of his left shoulder. Very interesting himotoshi that starts in the back of the Sennin and exits on the left side of his body (see photo #8)...

It is 9.6 inches (24.4 cm) tall by 5 inches (12.7 cm) wide. It is 3.8 Lb.
It is tarnished and has been repaired at the bottom. It also has missing some flowers, oxidation, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

An actor in street attire standing in front of a row of shops and tea houses by Osaka artist Sadahiro (active 1830-1851) dating circa 1845. A pupil of Kunisada, Sadahiro's woodblock prints were published in Osaka in the 1830's and 1840's. The seal of the publisher Iseya Sensaburo appears on the actor's head. The artist's signature is in black ink at the lower left. Exceptional color and impression with lacquer highlights on the edge of the inner kimono and mica in the background...
Antique Chinese celadon stoneware bowl with green glaze. The bowl has subtle textures, the center has a faint lotus flower encircled by an incised line, the body has radiating lines from the center, the rim of the bowl is slightly recessed. It measures 14" in diameter, 5" tall. The base has an unglazed ring where it was fired in the kiln and the unglazed ceramic can be seen.
Antique Japanese tall bronze vase in the form of a section of a cherry tree trunk. The tree has been pruned and it's new growth is just starting to blossom. 5 bats flit around the trunk. Details like the texture of the cherry tree bark, the faces and fur of the little bats add a life-like feel to the scene. Made for use with dry branches or an insert for water (not included).
