Rare Chinese Warring States Covered Pottery Stem Jar (475 - 221 BC)

This attractively-shaped pottery vessel with its flared foot and pear-shaped body was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is "heavily-potted", made from a fine-grained grey pottery and has a smooth burnished surface. Although not immediately obvious, the outer wall of the cover has been lightly decorated with thin lightly incised or polished bands.

A large, heavy, Korean brass candle holder, consisting of six parts: (1)a base pan on which screws the (2)candle stick, (3)a small pan to contain the wax, (4)a bracket to hold the light reflector, (5)a fan shaped light reflector which is secured by bat shaped brackets on both sides, and (6)a candle snuffer. This candle stick dates to the turn of the Century, Yi Dynasty, and measures overall 32 3/4" high. The base pan measures 10 3/4" in Diameter x 2 1/2" high. The condition is excellent.

Classic green glazed Han Dynasty grain storage silo. This item has been repaired (by me), please examine enlargements for condition. This has an excellent lead glazed silver patina and well executed little bears for legs. H: 27cm/10.6in and D: 20cm/7.9in (at the roof).

Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery Cabinet (16th Century)

A pottery model of a tall wooden cabinet made during the 16th century (c.1550 - 1600). Made from a hard creamy-white pottery and coated in a green glaze that has, in places, acquired a silvery iridescence, a result of very long exposure to moisture. The details suggests this is a model of a cabinet that would have had two opening doors above which are three drawers.

6187 250.00 Very rare old Cambodian woven bamboo lacquered scroll box with a partial mother of pearl inlay design, circa early 20th CE. This is an unusually large piece in good original condition, some surface loss to the lacquer but no breakage on the woven walls. The body is still pliable, the lid is a bit scuffed- to be expected from an old item. H: 42cm/16.5in and D: 13cm/5.1.

18th century Indian bronze votive sculpture of Ganesha sitting on a square throne, with his vahana (vehicle) - a bandicoot rat - in his lap, and holding his usual attributes in his 4 hands. There is a protective naga (cobra) wrapped around his waist. Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, and thus is invoked before any new undertaking. He bestows good luck on his worshippers, and is invoked in marriage ceremonies and in some forms of Tantric worship...

Fine Chinese Han Dynasty Burnished Pottery Cup

This fine & rare pottery cup was made some 2,000 years ago during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220), or possibly a little earlier. It is very well-made from a fine-grained grey pottery. This inner mouth and outer surface have a smooth burnished surface making it a real pleasure not only to view, but also to handle. On the surface is an area of "calcified" deposits, formed during its long burial.

Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Male Figure

This pottery figure was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a relatively high-fired creamy-white pottery (often regarded as better quality and more desirable than red-pottery figures) that has been cold-painted in various coloured pigments, good traces of which still remain. He stands obediently, hands clasped together across his waist, with his head turned very slightly to his left...

A white glazed Yingqing type plain bowl with unglazed rim. Southern Song Dynasty. Condition with tiny chip to rim, no any cracks and free from any restoration. Diameter: 16 cm.

A fine quality smaller bronze figure of Vishnu, South Indian, perhaps Tamil Nadu, c. 18th. century or even earlier.

Size: c. 10,5 mm. tall.

Condition: Good Very fine, lovely old patina, with a fine red-brown colour.

Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery Sedan Chair (16th Century)

A pottery model of a sedan chair made during the 16th century (c.1550 - 1600). Made from a hard creamy-white pottery and coated in complimentary green and yellow glazes. A nice example with good detail, especially to the pagoda-shaped roof. There is an unusual incised pattern to the flat base, possibly a lotus blossom (?).

This is a japanese antique 1920-1940 cotton Buddhist Shugensha hanten coat worn by Shugen practitioners who practiced Shugendo. Shugendo is a unique Japanese religion that combines Buddhism, Shinto and the worship of nature (mountains). It has some light stains , but is in very good condition. Size::Length :80 cm (31.4 inch) / Sleeve to sleeve :130cm (51.1 inch) / Back width :65cm (25.5inch)

19th century Edo period Japanese kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with multimetal relief inlays depicting a Japanese spiny lobster (Panulirus japonicus). Wonderfully made piece with crisp metalwork, gilding and silver inlaid eyes, some wear. Length 1.29 inches.

An adorable pair of pottery figures of a cow and a chicken, dating Ming Dynasty China, c. 1500-1550 AD.

Size: The cow measure c. 10 cm in legnth.

Condition: Extremely fine for type and age, with uncleaned deposits of dirt. Finely preserved glaze with a nice gloss. Wear for type and age.
