An antique Japanese Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. It is comprised of 8 drawers of varying sizes and a pair of sliding doors that hides a spacious area where store records and account books were stored. Side handles were used to carry this Tansu from place to place. It would make a great side chest for any room decor.

Cast bronze tripod, representing three dragon heads that hold their feet in their mouths. In the center a small container. It could be a censer. Maybe a candlestick. This small antique Chinese wooden storage container was used for calligraphy implements. Inksticks would have been held in the rear center compartment. Calligraphy brushes would have been held upright on the right and left side compartments. Seals or chops would have been stored in the lidded section. Originally painted with black lacquer, this piece has great age and wear patina.

This Japanese lidded cloisonne pot is referred to as Totai Cloisonne. The base material of the cloisonne decoration is ceramic and not the usual metal. Various cloisons which are adhered to the ceramic surface are filled with a variety of coloured enamel as is the case with cloisonne on metal. The pot is in good condition with an overall floral decoration. The internal lip of the lid has a small flake.

I am not familiar with Japanese porcelain, and so I cannot date this nice piece, but with a magnifying glass it it possible, to see all all the fine scratches on the surface of the dish, which is a sign, that this dish is old. Very nice condition. D : 14,9 cm.

Benten is the only female among the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, that of learning, speech and music. Wonderful crisp metalwork, beautiful gold and silver inlays, in great condition. Length 1 1/4 inches.

This very well carved Chinese ivory bead and green glass necklace is a 19th century product. It is 38” long and contains 78 ivory beads and one large glass bead. Originally, carved ivory beads were part of court necklaces in Qing Dynasty. The ivory beads are ½” in diameter; the glass bead is ¾” in diameter. Aside from minor wear due to its age, it is in great condition.
