19th century Japanese small lacquered wood netsuke representing a theatrical mask, appears to be of Nogaku type. Uncommon image, excellent intense face, great patina. This 18th century Samurai stirrup has intricate overall floral pattern with inlaid silver wire which is somewhat obscured by tarnish. The raised footpad is red Lacquer and has wear mark in the toe area. There is a small break (and hole) in near the rim of the foot pad, which are commsurate with age and use of a Japanese warriors stirrup.

A refined Korean Buncheong celadon vase. Buncheong refers to the technique of incising a repeating pattern on the clay surface and white clay is filled in creating a strong contrast of greys and celadon colors with the white lines. This pre-Columbian Chancay bone flute is from the central coast area of Peru, 800AD-1200AD. It is 6" long and has four holes on the top and one on the bottom. The knuckle is carved with a very nice frog and two serpents/snakes along the sides. It is in beautiful, solid condition with superb patina. A real no-brainer. I purchased it on October 12, 1989 from HD Enterprises.

All original hand forged iron hardware including the full moon lock plates and the Kakute style handles. The backplates of the handles feature the auspicious Sho Chiku Bai (Pine, Bamboo, Plum Blossom) motif. Side carrying handles to each section with rare connecting pins to secure both sections together. Constructed using straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails...

Antique Tibetan carved wooden phurba, a ritualistic Vajrayana Buddhist implement, depicting Nagas or snakes on the blade. Nagas are the entities in nature that associated with illnesses. The entwining serpents are a symbol of medicine and healing. The deity handle, mirroring the three-edges of the blade has three deity faces. Typically, one might be wrathful, one peaceful and one joyful representing Body, Speech and Mind.

This pale buff earthenware vase is painted with a fairly elaborate Moorish design derived from Middle Eastern ceramics. The front is tin glazed, and the back is largely unglazed, exposing the earthenware body. Two loop handles are attached to the shoulder for suspension. There is a small old chip to the lip of the opening. There are some small glaze skips from firing, and some old wear from use. No cracks or repairs.

The Chinese ethnic minority Miao are very fond of silver and would use any festival to display their ornate silver jewelry. This dragon necklace was used by a young girl child from one of the many Miao villages around the hills of Kali. The pendent is 6.5 inches wide, childs' size, but the decorative chain is long enough for an adult to wear. Because the pendent is hollow, it is comfortable to wear. As one moves, the necklace makes a soft tinkling sound.

Shop mark in under-glaze blue to the base. Jiaqing, early 19th century. Diameter "2¾ / 7,2 cm, height "2/ 4,8 cm. Condition: a small glaze flake to the mouth rim.

This early 20th century ivory carving of a maiden is 15 7/8” high (17 ½” with base), 3 ½” wide and 2 7/8” thick. She wears a simple and elegant robe and holds a bouquet of flowers in front of her. The carving is superb and has nice patina. The wood base is a later made piece. Aside from some small hair line cracks due to its age, the statue is in great condition. This is Japanese antique Hikeshi Hanten (fireman coat)used in the Edo period.( 1830-1850) of natural indigo dye cotton.
It is a very nice cotton hand spun with warm hands.
It is drawn with Tsutsugaki and with natural indigo dye.
There are slight stains, but they are not noticeable. There is a slight rubbing mark.
The state can be worn well.
