Museum quality Edo Period C.1860 zen temple mizubachi. Lost wax cast with a great dragon spout in grand detail and spectacular shishi mythical lion ornament on the top of the lid. The diaper motif on the base is in raised relief and equally spectacular. The spigot on the dragon head is permanent so we are assuming that there was a constant water flow. Very slight indentation on one of the hanging jewels but so slight you can only see at the right angle. H:51cm x W: 43cm. Ask for shipping quote.

Finely sculptured Ganesha bronze from West India, 17th Century, surrounded by a stylized aura ring, topped by a divine protective head and a beautiful engraved lotus flower base. This Japanese lidded cloisonne pot is referred to as Totai Cloisonne. The base material of the cloisonne decoration is ceramic and not the usual metal. Various cloisons which are adhered to the ceramic surface are filled with a variety of coloured enamel as is the case with cloisonne on metal. The pot is in good condition with an overall floral decoration. The internal lip of the lid has a small flake.

These bottles are decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and colored enamels with a design of various painted fans floating on an iron red enamel ground that is covered with gilt spirals. The interiors and mouthrims are clear glazed. The bases are glazed clear and the footrings are unglazed, exposing the fine white porcelain paste. They are signed Kozan (Dai Nippon Kozan Sei) in underglaze blue. Both are in very good condition...

Pair of Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Dragon Covered Jar, Late 19th Century

Museum piece bronze temple lantern dated Bunsei 13 ( Edo Period C. 1830). Inscription on the base reads: Bunsei 13, Year of the tiger, November, Auspicious Day. Gosho - machi ( Gosho village) Shoei-Ji (Shoei Temple). Shoei Temple is a Jodo -shu temple in Nara established in C.1100. It was rebuilt in C.1577. This very nice ivory carving of a traveling merchant is a 19th century product. It is 8” high (9” high with wood base) and, measured from the bottom, is 2 ¼” in diameter. This bare foot elder wears a turban and an old traditional (perhaps Afghan) robe. He has a sharp, wrinkled face; his hair is long and curly. He carries a soft cloth bag over his right shoulder; his right hand is holding a wood or bamboo stick...

The slightly tapering form is sturdily potted and is enameled in grisaille with a bird perched on a wisteria branch amid roses toward the base. The scene, repeated on the broad sides, is reserved in a ground of yellow enamel. The narrow ends show two wisteria branches. Ao Imari (blue/green Imari) Sometsuke Kakuzara. A square blue-green Imarai Plate. ca. late 18th- early 19th C. Japan. 10.75" (27.25cm) square. Shoki Imari, using underglaze cobalt blue painting with oftentimes borrowed Chinese motifs, such as this piece, were made in the Arita kilns near the port of Imari from the 17th Century. This is also an example of fairly rare "Ao Imari," (literally "blue" Imari) with a green-blue background rather than the standard porcelain white background...

A bronze statue of a fisherman about to cast his fishing net into the water. The statue is well crafted showing the veins on the legs, the knitting on the nets, every piece of straw on the dress. A high quality cloisonne vase dating from the Meiji period. Design of ho-o birds among clouds on a green speckled ground. The shoulder with flowers on a black spiral ground. Animal horns carved and shaped this way were used by herders and farmers to give a sick animal liquid medicine. This yak horn was bought in China but was probably made used the Tibetans. Judging from its size, this horn is from a mature (older) Yak...The tip is carved into a delicate animal head ...there are a few surface growth stress cracks on the under side which would be common for a large older animal. horn from tip to end is 11 inches and has good translucence

Pipecase of the otoshizutsu form carved out of stag antler with a décor in low relief of a tiger crouching on a rock with sprigs of bamboo surrounding the rock. Surrounding the himotoshi is more bamboo. Unsigned. Japan, 19th century.

A Japanese tobacco tray, known as tabako bon in Japanese. The set comes with a hi-ire or the container for the charcoal, two drawers to put tobacco in and a kiseru or bamboo pipe. The tray is done in lacquer emulating the pattern on wood grain, as if the tray was done simply with wood and a light stain. The metal fittings on the handle are decorated with pine and the lid for the hiire is decorate with motif of gourds. The side of the tobacco tray contain curled-like extensions and the extensions...

This nicely carved jade (jadeite) pendant is 2 ½” long, 1 ½” wide and ¼” thick. It is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a twisted RuYi (如意) scepter with LingZhi (靈芝) ends surrounded by a small unknown plant. A small lucky bat is sitting on top of the carving. It is in great condition.
