A rare and very finely carved gourd container with ivory cover, illustrated and inscribed with the "Peach Blossom Poem" from the famous story "Hong Lou Meng" (the "Dream of the Red Chamber"), dated - "made in the tenth month of the twenty-second year of the Guanxu" - 1897. This rare tortoise shell carved RuYi (scepter) is a mid-19th century product. It is 13 ½” long and 3 1/2” wide from the widest part (head of the scepter). There are fourteen cranes carved in relief flying in coiled lucky clouds. The pattern repeats and covers the entire handle and head. It is in excellent condition. More photos are available.
Antique Chinese small blue and white glazed porcelain ink cake container. The lid is domed and decorated with a lively five-clawed dragon floating in a sky with wisps of clouds and the flaming jewel. The bottom portion of the container is also decorated with a wave-like pattern and a Qianlong mark. Inside are still the colorful ink remnants from it's previous scholarly owner.

Rather unusual late 19th century miniature Chinese Shoushan soapstone carving of a snarling chimera seated on a base. Superb carving, rare excellent quality butterscotch color stone, great patina. Neat hole in the base for hanging. Wonderful object for a scholar’s desk. Height 0.68 inches (17.5 mm).
The mid 19th century carved nut (tagua) netsuke is 1 ¾” long, 1 ¼” wide and 1 3/8” thick. It depicts a Shi Shi mask and an old man emerging from a cloth bag. There is an artist’s signature on the side. Aside from a few hair line cracks, it is in excellent condition.
This is a famille rose bowl with medallion motif of various flowers and design. It stands on a short foot-rim and everted into a U-shaped bowl. In the center of the bowl, there is a pair of peaches in medallion design, surrounded by the peach leaf in altenate light and dark green colour glaze. Japanese Satsuma Earthenware square shape small Censer, Incense Pot, Meiji, 1900, 2 1/8" high, 2" square-top rim, supported by four(4) small bracket feet, the Gold and enamel painting are very small finely done.
