A Japanese "arrow toss" game vase made of copper and decorated with polychrome enamels, the rims and wires are gilt. Showing antiques and auspicious symbols on a white ground, the base with "fuku" mark. The "arrow-toss" game originated from China and was at the beginning very popular with the aristocrats and survived as a pastime well into the Edo period. From an old Swiss private collection. 19th century netsuke of a baying stag with its head turned back, its upper front teeth bared. Elegant carving with pure clean lines, excellent hairwork, wonderful depiction of volume of the deer body and his antlers, eyes inlaid in black horn, beautiful patina. A set of five, sometsuke tusurugata kozara, blue and white Crane shaped small dishes dating to the late seventeenth century. An identical set of dishes is illustrated in volume II of the Shibata Collection at page 272 no 714, there dated c.1680-1710. Their condition is good all the dishes show crazing to the glaze, two have a minute chip each to the edge. Similar shaped dishes have been excavated from the Sarukawa kiln at Arita...

Cast bronze vase decorated with three handles in the form of masks of mythological creatures, carrying a trunk and large ears probably inspired by an elephant. The cast work is beautiful and the finish is neat. On the lower and upper edges, two very elegant Greek friezes are discreetly and finely incised in silver. The edge of the vase is slightly split, but you can still put water in it. A nice original patina confirms the age of the object, probably 19th century or earlier...

Very refined covered box in satsuma earthenware. The polychrome decoration of gold and colored enamels represents courtesans walking in a lake landscape. A trio of silver wired cloisonne red crowned cranes flies through goldstone clouds on the shoulder of this 4.5" emerald green basse-taille cloisonne vase. Splashing waves are incised in the silver body, the mark of Kumeno Teitaro is impressed on the base.

This Japanese Meiji period 6 sided porcelain chocolate pot was made for export to the Western markets. The chocolate pot has a lovely traditional Japanese scene which was hand painted, with bits of moriage detail. Excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, pot is 9.5 inches tall. Just simply stunning, this beautiful Chinese Asian celadon vase dates to the 14th century, it is in perfect shape save a small piece of broken shard that attached itself when some other vessel exploded in the kiln. Other than that, no cracks, hairlines, or other damage is found. Notice the comb lines and well potted sleek. Measures 4 inches high and about 2.5" at widest.

A good Arita moulded rinka gata form scalloped rimmed dish in Ai Kakiemon style. The front is decorated with a band of twenty four jewelled cash, shippo, to the rim and further shippo in ones and twos incorporated into mounds of grasses, presumably sasa, bamboo grass, of differing height, again arranged in ones and twos to create a pleasingly symmetric arrangement framing a central gobenka. Superb chinese fluorite carving of Guanyin with a weight of 2,1 kg, made around 1750. It is Jade green in areas and almost clear in others and it shows the numerous flaws running through so stone typical of so-called green quartz (actually fluorite). It is raised on a hardwood stand, which is forming the torso of the Guanyin.

Wonderful and unusual display piece with a cubistic aesthetic - definitely singular.

Chinese late Qing to early Republic period rosewood multi-tiered display stand carved with bamboo-form supports holding seven shelves for displaying objects. Antique seated bronze Buddha in Maravijaya and Virasana, made in the late 16th or early 17th century in Chiang Mai Northern Thailand.

It shows a rare high quality bronze, very heavy, solid and shiny with rests of gilt.

The statue is our property since 1938 and was exhibited in our private home since that time.

Predominantly hollow inside and nevertheless 6,5 kg heavy.

Antique Himalayan tall yak butter lamp. Made of hand hammered copper with gilt bronze applied details depicting Buddhist auspicious symbols. The butter would have melted and burned for a measured amount of time depending on the size and the amount in the lamp. A small hole in the bottom of the cup would have held a sort of wick to provide a long lasting light. Overall repouse details are in great detail. Original patina.

An antique Japanese bamboo Ikebana basket in a barrel shape with dual double arm connected handle. The body is woven with multiple layered bamboo strips in a horizontal pattern which gives strength and tenacity to the piece as well as the symbolic nature of bamboo. The base is a bamboo rope foot with a star patterned bottom. Natural soot patina contrasted against chestnut brown highlights.

This is yosegire Patchwork silk katazome kimono textile in Edo period(1603-1867). All are originals from the Edo period. This is a large size Liao dynasty (907–1125 A.D.)moulded polychrome earthenware dish with leaded glaze. It rests on a short foot rim, a slightly flat everted base before rising upwards. It has a simple floral motive. On the underside, the glaze is in dark brown in colour, all the way down just before the short foot rim exposing the earthenware.
