A Very Fine White Nephrite Jade Hair Pin:

This is a very beautifully carved floriform shaped head incised with a “Shou” character in the centrer and suround by floral petals and Ruyi form, the smooth curving stem, of a white nephrite hair pin in very fine quality.
It’s in very fine condition without any damages at all.

This is a suo kamishimo ( top and bottom which were a formal kimono for samurai in Edo period ). The occasion when this suo kamishimo was worn is not clear ( ceremony or stage ). This suo kamishimo is made by hand-plied and hand-woven asa ( hemp ) cloth with bold tatewaku pattern which is katazome ( stencil-dyeing ). It has round bunches of asa threads for ornaments which are called "kiku-toji" or "kikuji". In excellent condition except for a small moth holes and a rip ( 11th and 12th photos )...
Finely cast statue of Bodhisattva Manjusri, in formal attire, his face showing a half smile, sitting in "rajalila asana" on a chimera or highly stylized lion, both resting on an elevated lotus throne. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Height: 9 1/8" (23,3 cm). Iron, with partly encrusted patina. Obvious signs of great age, strong oxydization in some areas, otherwise very good condition. Statue of Buddha, in monk's robes, eyes half closed, his hands in "abhiseka mudra", sitting cross-legged on a double lotus throne. Bronze, with large remnants of the original gilding and dark, reddish-green encrusted patina. China, Yuan or early Ming Dynasty, 14th century. Height: 7 3/8" (18,8 cm). Good condition. NOTE: "abhiseka mudra" is the mudra (hands posture) of anointing. It is very rarely seen in Buddha statues.

A large 16th Century Ming Dynasty deep dish painted in underglaze blue with grape and vine decoration to the centre and with alternating flowers and buddhist emblems around the rim. The underside is painted with elongated prunus branches under the rim and with stylized peach branches to the inside. The base is unglazed. This item was made in China, probably for export, in the second half of the 16th Century, circa 1550-1600...
Beautiful early 20th century jade flask with fitted cap. There is an iris on both front and back of the flask carved in low relief with scrolling pattern. Small carved dragons on both sides with jade rings. Measures 10" long by 3" wide.

This early 20th century carved coral of lady and two birds mounted as a table lamp is 22” high. The coral lady is 6” high and the embossed brass base is 7” x 7”. There is a small carved agate bird sitting on the top of the lamp. The lady and two birds are standing on a carved hard wood base and branch. It is in great condition.
Museum quality piece. The front decorated with two dragons and the flaming pearl, the back decorated with bats, the standing rim decorated with colorful flower bands, both on the inside and outside. A very nice Qingbai plate in the shape of a flower, the center with a very fine carving of a peony. China, Song Dynasty (960-1279). Diameter 14,5 cm. Condition: excellent with normal age wear.
Circa 1840-1850. Buffalo hide quiver with traces of red and green pigment. Contains seven arrow shafts, four with metal points. Ash bow with original animal hair and fiber string. Provenance: Mordecai Thomas Bertram (1843-1904) collected c. 1860-1870 on the Sauk and Fox reservation, then descended within the family.
This massive mid or late 19th century white jade (nephrite) carved Ru-Yi scepter is 18 ½” long, 5 ½” wide (from the widest part) and 3” high (from the highest part). The whole scepter was carved from a single piece of nephrite. The carving depicts mythical figures, animals and buildings surrounded by clouds. Aside from some natural flaws in the stone, it is in excellent condition.

Like all our pieces also this piece is genuine, the body of the piece is in a perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The only problem of this extremely rare excavated piece is that to the outside the surface of the glaze during hundreds of years was heavily attacked by aggressive soil. To the inside of the piece there still are remainders of the former very attractive oilspot decoration.
