An antique Japanese Gyosho Bako (peddler's box) made of Hinoki (Cypress) wood. Original Urushi lacquer finish and bronze hand made hardware. Carrying handles through which a pole would be inserted with outer Japanese writing advertising the peddler. Straight Japanese dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nail construction. Four drawers of increasing heights from top to bottom.

A group of five small pottery figures, four of people and one of a very smush faced lion. All painted in what look like both overglaze and underglaze colors. This type of figure was two part molded and produced in quantity. The tallest is 5 inches tall. These figures date to the first quarter of the 19th century.

Condition: All have some chips and the man with his head leaning on one hand has had the base repaired.

Alt Wien / Old Vienna dish or plate – originally a stand for a vase or small tureen – with sparse decoration of stylized little tulips within a dark red border. The modern-looking design is a deceiver: the shape of the Royal Vienna Porcelain factory underglaze blue shield mark on the base shows a production date in the Empire period around 1800. Diameter "9 ½ / 24 cm. Condition: two small spots of glaze wear to the center, from the foot rim of vase or tureen.

A very rare nicely moulded vase with a long ribbed neck that flares to a hexafoil rim. The hexagonal body is moulded with bands of flowers. The lower band has alternating patterns of lotus flowers and lotus leaves. There are two lion masks at opposite sides at the shoulder. The vase is covered in a light olive-grey glaze. This carved reticulate nephrite is 6 ½ inches long, 2 ½ inches wide and a quarter of an inch thick. It has a traditional Chinese motif which includes a dragon, flowers, a vine and characters. The meaning of these four characters is ¡°celebrating happy events and long life¡±. The workmanship is just wonderful. It was carved in two layers which makes it even more interesting. There are a few small chips on the sides. It is in good condition.
