Small bat-shaped water container. It is in porcelain covered with a beautiful green glassure and is pierced with 4 openings, a small one at the mouth, 2 others on either side of the ears and a large one at the back.
Was to serve as a water cup, either as a dropper, perhaps as an oil lamp or an incense holder, or several functions at the same time. It is a rare and charming object which is also auspicious.
Good condition, normal wear for a centuries-old object...
Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Kraak Porcelain Dish
This lovely example of "kraak" porcelain was made in the late 16th century, during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. The dish is moulded with the decoration around the cavetto following the moulded form. The underglaze blue is of a good intense colour with the central pattern featuring birds in a landscape...

DESCRIPTION: A large wooden scholar’s brush used to paint large calligraphy. Thick black bristles are gathered into a bulbous wood ferrule, turned from the same wood as the handle. The tip of the handle is pierced for hanging. A very nice old brush, good for display in large brush pots; 19th C., normal wear as would be expected. DIMENSIONS: 16” long (41 cm).

18th to early 19th century iron Japanese sword tsuba with multimetal inlays depicting a tengu in flight among swirling clouds above city roofs as he carries a stolen jar of oil or sake that he carries in a string, two inlaid inscribed silver plaques. Design continues on the back showing a tall tower and more roofs. Tengu are mythological creatures half men, half birds, usually depicted as goblins, and first-class fighters. Wonderful subject, excellent detailing, inlays in various metals...
Finely carved Japanese, 19th century, netsuke depicting Daikoku, one of the seven Gods of Fortune, the god of wealth, shown as an entertainer, playing the flute, while a karako appears right beside him while performing an acrobatic act. Signed Tomochika.
Excellent details, form and expressions on this piece, with a wonderful patina.
Netsuke measures 0.98 inches (2.5cm) wide, 0.70 inches (1.8cm) deep, and 1.55 inches (3.9cm) tall. It is in excellent condition, as shown in the posted photos.
Glazed stoneware lime pot. Relief decoration, glued to the slip representing a dragon, a phoenix and Buddhist emblems covered with thick blue, brown and cream enamels. Vietnamese work from the 19th century or before. Some applied elements have peeled off and the enamel has chipped in places over time as can be seen in the photos. Rare ceramic of good quality.

A Fine Georgian Silver Pint Mug from Newcastle, by John Langlands and John Robertson and Hallmarkked in 1780. An Armonial on the front depicts a hand trust through a crown, holding flowers. Dimensions; 4.75" high x 4" base diameter, weight 11 standard, 10.1 Troy ounces. Some banging on the handle (see photo 5) but overall in very fine condition.
There are no chips or cracks in the glass. Thanks for looking.
Offering this small unusual 18th century English wine glass with a trumpet bowl on opaque color twist stem with two spiral threads, red and white, over a vertical gauze. Islamic Central Asian Ghaznavid dynasty, Bamiyan, splashed glaze sgraffito pottery bowl of deep rounded form with flat rim standing on a short foot. 19th C Chinese shagreen over copper eyeglass case with a carnelian toggle on silk tassel of Shou Lao, the Buddhist god of longevity. In very good antique condition having some damage that seems to have been stabilized on the upper left top edge. Measures 7 inches x 3".
This is a sterling silver Victorian chain with a fine link intertwined with 9K ornamental gold balls that add interest and color. The gold balls are spaced evenly and symmetrically around the chain, as they should be, on a properly fabricated chain. We have attempted to show this in the photos. AT 55 inches long, it will hang 2 or 3 times around the neck...

An unsually large stone cylinder seal, carved in a glossy black green stone, Middle Assyrian period, c. 14th.-11th. cent. BC.
This cylinder is seal 48 mm. tall and c. 15 mm. thick - a seal that gives a huge imprint when rolled on clay. The seal showing an archer fighting a winged griffin. The archer is probably the Great King and he is kneeling shooting his bow into the face of the Griffin, which is lifting it's left paw...

Bamboo Brush pot of almost cylindrical form, the front deeply carved in low relief, depicting six scholars riding on mules in a mountainous landscape with pine trees. Backside left undecorated. Condition: One large age crack on the backside, some smaller fissures to the base. Dimensions: 21,3 cm high, 14,7 cm diameter. Weight: 710 gram.

A fine cut crystal decanter with faceted stopper, early 20th century American Brilliant Period. The slightly rounded shape is comprised of finely cut squares with patterned centers, hand blown faceted stopper. Size: 8" H x 3.75" W. Condition: Decanter is clean and sparkling with age appropriate wear. No interior cloudiness, minor flaking and chip to face of one square. A nice addition to any collection or a stand out on its' own.
A lovely cut glass perfume bottle cut from cranberry to clear. The design incorporates wide miters separated by combinations of fans, strawberry diamond and star motifs. The shoulders of the bottle are panel cut, and the base is finished with a 24-point star. The lapidary-cut stopper is original to the bottle and is engraved with the same number as the inside of the bottle's neck.

Six lovely Victorian sterling silver cocktail forks decorated in a pattern of roses and foliage. The backs are also decorated and are hallmarked with a 4-leaf clover, but I cannot identify the maker. They are also marked "Sterling Pat. '92[1892]". Very nice quality.

A classic bun-shaped Koro incense burner by Miyagawa Chozo pierced with Incense-clock-patterns enclosed in the rare original signed wooden box. A fine old antique gold frame of the 19th century, measuring 27" by 34" by 3" depth, the inner rabbet 18 1/2" by 25 1/2". This frame certainly at one time held a fine painting; there is some hint of there having been a placard. Weight is an impressive 20 pounds; the wood used I believe is heavy oak. There is much evidence of age, moderate wear; but it is in keeping with the age and antiquity of the frame. Currently there is a modern print of a Picasso work inserted into the opening.

A lovely Chinese famille rose vase featuring court ladies relaxing in a garden setting, a popular Chinese theme. Colors are still rich and vibrant with calligraphy on the back. Dated circa 1900,without any damage, no chips, hairlines, it measures: 17 inches high.
Egyptian head with side lock, probably of Harpokrates, the infant son of Isis and Horus.
The face shows almond shaped eyes, a flattish nose, and slit mouth. The well preserved left ear appears just below the partially present side lock. The neck slightly bent to the figure’s left side.
The head most likely belongs to an ithyphallic limestone figure. For a related example, cf. acc. no. ST58 in the British Museum database.
