Antique early 18th-century Islamic Indo-Persian Indian Mughal steel shield Dhal. The shield is circular and convex, hand-hammered from a single piece of thick solid steel with visible hammer marks on the inside but a perfectly smooth exterior surface.

This item was made later - during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor - probably in imitation of or as a replacement for a 15th Century Ming original. There are eight chips to the rim. A rare crusie lamp with hanger, dating from the 1st quarter of the 19th century or earlier. The bowls of these lamps were filled with fish oil or mutton fat with wicks of peeled rushes. Crusie lamps were the precursors to Betty lamps and were generally made of iron or tin. To find one made of brass, and with its original hanger, is extremely uncommon.

Early 1800's underglaze cobalt blue decorated Chinese tea bowl stands. The center of the dish is open with a raised collar and the opening designed to accommodate a footed tea bowl. The underside is decorated with concentric rings and three stylized bats. The side of the foot ring is decorated with auspicious symbols. In very good condition showing very little sign of wear. They measure 4 inches diameter, interior diameter 2 1/8" and 1 1/8" high.
