An early Hindu sculpture in redish buff stone, of the godess Davi or Tara, Hindu artisans of Java, Indonesia, ca. 10th. century.

A nice very early sculpture, made while Southern Indian influence was strong in Java. Likely made by South-Indian artisans in the style of MADHYA PRADESH, though still with subtle Indonesian elements to the expression.

This matching pair from the same tomb comes with a TL test from Ralf Kotallas lab, dating them to ca. 800 AD - so 1200 years old.

A rare and superb seated bronze Buddha, Subduing Mara Thailand, 2nd. period of U-Thong Style, 14th.-15th. Century AD.

Artistic and sensitive portrait, finely worked details and the robe is draped in the open mode with a long flap over the left shoulder ending above the navel. Notice also the band between the hairline and the forehead, probably from Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai.

An exceptionally detailed and fine style large bronze figure of pregnant woman, Eastern Java, Majapahit Empire, c. 13th.-15th. century AD.

The figure probably representing a Hindu female deity; she is firmly pressing her right breat and holding a sacrificial bowl in her left hand. The head of longish oval shape, with clearly delineated eyes and lids lowered in meditation, a smiling mouth and tiny curls covering head and ushnisha.

Sandstone was a highly coveted material during the early part of the Ayutthaya period, and the use of curved lines and petite bumps for hair reflect the influence of Indian Gupta stylization.

The hip-length coat of mail made of riveted rings, with a short back slit and long sleeves. Three fish-shaped buckles are riveted onto the two large, integrated plates in the chest area. Two narrower plates attached at each of the sides, followed by three rows of overlapping discs on the back. The figures are matching in the Green and Yellow Sancai colors and they are plced on large plints. The figure to the left in this pair was Termo-Luminescence testet by Ralf Kotallas Laboratory and it was made during the Middle Ming period (15th.-16th. cent.).

They are both carrying scarfs. Figure to the left also an umbrella on his back.

A rarely seen set of zodiac figures with animal heads and human bodies. All are dressed in long gowns with long sleeves, their hands folded in front of their chests.

The Zodiacs are: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig or boar. These correspond to the twelve earthly branches and are infrequently found in wealthy tombs of the elite and wealthy ancient Ming Chinese.
