Antique Chinese hanging scroll of a young woman in the garden under moonlight, signed Fei Dan Xu (1802 - 1850) 19th century, Qing dynasty. It measures overall 17.75" x 73", 12.75" x 17.25"

A very fine Japanese gilt blue and white charger decorated with phoenixes, dragons, peonies and other motifs. There is a six characters Chinese Chenghua mark inside the foot-rim, but I would date it to 18th or 19th century. The charger is in excellent condition besides some faded gilt and one kiln fault spot(see photo #2); no cracks or chips. Diameter: 15-7/8".

An English Staffordshire Compote, circa 1830-1840. Dimensions 9.5" in diameter x 5" high. Excellent condition. With 911 and 913 it serves as a set. Probably Ridgway or Rockingham.

Pair of ancient Persian small cast bronze mythical creatures. Each figure has a rounded head, the short horns of a bull, an arching neck and a single hoofed foot. Various holes and slots point to a utilitarian as well as decorative function. Most likely these were feet used for a ritual incense vessel. The holes were for the censor to hang from above but the tripod vessel could also stand. Lovely coloring and encrustation of bronze consistent with age. (ref sources: Luristan, Persia...

A very rare and elegant sterling silver fish server in Whiting's fine 1891 "Louis XV" pattern. The blade retains traces of a very light lemony gilding to protect from the saltiness of fish. The back is marked with Whiting's hallmark alond with the patent date. The server remains in its original box crafted of leather and silk. The inside lid is stamped "G. Seifert/Quebec".

Netsuke nicely carved to represent a man standing with a slightly mischievous expression and posture. Ivory, with a fine age patina. Japan, mid Edo Period. Height: 5.9 cm. Minute age cracks (absolutely no damage), slight erosion, otherwise very good condition.

An antique Japanese Wood Buddhist altar fitting known as a keman. The hand fan like shape were thought to have originated from flower garland offerings seen in India. The keman is decorated with motifs of lotuses with two apsaras. The top of the keman has the crest of the Tokugawa family. Age: Edo Period 17/18th century, Size: Length 25" Height 9.5" Width 1.5"

German 800 silver figural bird spice box, ca 1900. A raven with hunched shoulders, tucked-down wings, and spindly legs; detachable head downturned with pensive eyes and long pointed beak. A brooding desk ornament guaranteed to ensure stately solitude. Marks include Hanau maker’s stamp (Neresheimer). Very good condition.

Ayutthaya period Bronze Buddha, Siam, mounted, most likely survived the destruction of this ancient Thai capital by the Burmese in 1767, with some parts of the bronze statue partially melted (see photographs). Strong aura/presence. A very rare item, size excluding base: H. 25 cm. x W. 19 cm. x D. 11 cm. (9.75" x 7.5" x 4.25"), heavy.

Porcelain vase in a squared baluster form by Coalport. The medium pink color is offset by a beautifully modeled and gilt snail and gilt details along the rim and the base. Ca. 1890. Origin: England. Size: 5-5/8" tall. Condition: some discoloration to the interior; light glaze crazing; no chips, cracks, etc.

Late Meiji (1890s to 1912) Japanese ceramic Oribe ware chaire (tea caddy for storing powdered green tea used in tea ceremony) with two mock handles. Comes with very well made shifuku (silk brocade storage bag). Characteristic rich green glaze on the top, beautiful underglaze brown painting of fern sprigs on one side and plant shoots and brocade patterns on the other, wonderful finely crackled glaze...

A Set of Six Mintons Dinner Plates (Minton & Boyle Period mark; 1836-1841). Dimensions; 10" in diameter. Minton's and WS imprint and Minton and Boyle mark. Very Good Condition, with some wear.

This is a beautiful Japanese cloisonne vase. Though not signed, the workmanship and colors clearly speaks Hayashi Kodenji made this. This same opinion is held by North America's leading cloisonne collector. The vase stands 7 1/4 inches tall. It appears perfect but there is a virtually invisible repair to the midnight blue enamel edge shown in the last image.

Antique hand knotted Yomud persian rug in dark reds with black and white accents. The rug has a long fringe, approximately 6" on each side. Early 20th century. It measures 9'11" by 7'10".

Japanese Koto Cover featuring a magnificent Phoenix. The Koto is a traditional Japanese stringed musical instrument. This Koto Cover was for an important Koto player. A textile of this quality rarely comes along for sale. Beatifully hand painted with some embroidery on fine silk. Really a work of art. 96 x 13.5 inches, 244 x 34 cm. Excellent Condition. From a prominent and widely exhibited collection.

According to many Indians, this old juicer would also doubled as a pasta maker. With the carved animal heads on each side, and great aged patina, it makes an interesting sculptural artifact of India's culture.

19th century kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) netsuke with copper top engraved with Daruma screaming and waving his hands. Excellent design, wonderful use of katakiribori - carving technique recreating brush strokes used in sumi ink drawings - see finely chiseled lines of his robe. Nice wooden bowl, metal fitting around himotoshi. Disc diameter 1.19 inches, bowl diameter 1.79 inches.

A bearded God with scimitar, stands before Shamash, with another lesser deity behind raising her hands in supplication; A sun disc set in a crescent in the fields as a symbol of the gods of the Moon and Sun.

FOOTED BRASS COMPOTE

Originally made and used as the traditional ritual tray for offering food in Korean Peninsula, early 20th century, approx. D 22 x H 9.5cm (8.66 x 3.74in). Some expected sign of use and stains due to aging, but in generally good condition as is...

An exceptionally nice English porcelain cup and saucer decorated with pink luster. The body is molded in a net pattern with reserves that are highlighted in overglaze blue, green, yellow and iron red enamels. The center of the saucer is decorated with a strawberry motif that is repeated in the bottom of the cup. The cup is raised on a slight foot. The saucer has very deep and steeply sloped sides so the hot tea could be drunk directly from the saucer, as was the custom.

Late 18th Century Chinese White Jade Carving Belt Hook & Plaque with Tourmaline Silver Plated (NOT SILVER) Mirror

The mirror is 9.4 inches (24 cm) in length by 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) wide. The plaque is 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) by 3.1 inches (8 cm) wide. The belt hook is 4.7 inches (12 cm) in length by 0.8 inch (2.25 cm) wide and 21.94 mm thick. It weighs 290 gram.

An English Oak Inkstand from the Edwardian era, circa 1910. It is 9" x 6", with a decorated top to the inkwell. There is a slight crack in the glass (visible in the photo), but otherwise in fine condition.

Intriguing Daunian kyathos featuring an incurving shallow bowl and a handle that widens towards the top to form stylized horns, a tiny animal head inserted in between.
The cream-hued surface shows a delicate linear decoration, both on the handle and on the outside of the bowl.

A massive and superbly preserved bronze mace head decorated with faceted knobs around the swollen head and flanked by grooved bands on a tubular shaft, later bronzeage, ca. 1200-800 BC.

Size: Unusually large for type - 14,5 cm. tall and 7,5-8 cm. wide! Weight: 660 grams.

Condition: Intact and very attractine with a wonderful red and green patina.

This Qing Dynasty cloisonne box dates late 19th to pre-1910. Exhibiting a beautiful patina, the box is composed of brass with copper on the exterior. In excellent condition and a real visual pleasure, the box measures 3"x 4”.

A large and unusual late Qing famille rose stem cup, dating from the Guangxu reign. Marks around the stem and on the inside foot reveals it was custom-made as a sacrificial vessel for a 'Li' family's ancestral altar. The bottom mark, 'jiqian', means 'to remember the heaven...

Antique Japanese mounted carving of a group of 6 flying bats. Sculpted with detail and lacquered gold, the group moves together through the air like a small cloud. Mounted and framed in a plexiglass shadow box. Bats are symbols of prosperity and good luck. This carving was most likely part of a larger temple decoration.
