Early 19th Century large and framed Chinese silk and gilt thread embroidery .Overall design of dragons amongst flames and clouds; top panel on dark brown ground, bottom with colorful ocean wave representing the emperors power sending to the people. Excellent condition. L: 40” W: 19”.
An unusual SET OF FOUR Kiddush cups, each 3 1/2" high, and the tops 2" across. Each is marked .800 at base and also to the left of that is a tiny mark, difficult to photograph. "Kiddush" is a Hebrew word that literally means “sanctification”. It is defined as a blessing recited over grape juice or wine to sanctify the Jewish and Shabbat holidays. Many families have a special goblet or glass for the blessing, and this vessel is called the Kiddush cup...

This figure has old losses to both forearms. The features are worn and it is blackened overall from incense and candle smoke, but it has a pleasant, soft patina. A metal nimbus was originally attached to the back with a small strip of metal that still remains. Acquired in Kyoto in the early 1970s.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Italy by Caopdimonte between 1740 and 1745. It bears a rare “Fleur de Lis” mark under glaze. The saucer is 5 1/4 inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 3/4 inches high with a diameter of 2 3/8 inches. The porcelain is highly translucent with egg shell quality. It has a parchment hue and has imperfections in the glaze. The cup shape and handle are very similar to Meissen cups of that time...
Offered for sale is a desireable Civil War era, wide mouth, apothecary bottle sporting “FLOR. CASS.” on the under glass label! I believe that it means FLOWER CASSIA.
The nine inch tall bottle sports the following embossing on the base: "W.N.WALTON PAT'D SEPT. 23D 1862." The fancy, applied recessed label is complete, shows minor age related flaws and is in very good condition.
The bottle has a few unobtrusive manufacturing bubbles and flaws; otherwise no damage...
A Yuan - Ming longquan celadon stem cup, everted rim with ribbed stem and unglazed footring, the stem is imitates a stalk of bamboo, the stem cup is covered with green glaze.
Stemcup is in good condition with crack line on the rim, please see picture for detail.

These Chinese long wooden bobbins were used for winding thread for routine sewing chores. As a household tool, used by generations of women within the family, they were hand carved and painted with the continious use in mind. Inside each bobbin there is a small bead which freely moves back and forth and acts as a noise maker when the bobbin is in motion...or falling to the floor.

This is a design for a kimono with a leafing vine surrounding a lacquer calligraphy box with inkstone and brushes in tones of grays and black with only the calligraphy brushes having red and yellow handles. The grain of the woodblock shows through the background of the kimono. Printed on mulberry paper and probably a leaf from a design album. There is a stain above the upper right sleeve, and a repaired 2 inch tear at the top of the leaf. The paper has yellowed slightly.
