Outstanding craftsmanship has produced this fabulous bronze Buddhist Daruma-san. Rich patina and old Meiji Period bronze c.1880 have created a classic piece. Daruma is revered in Japan for bringing Buddhism to Japan and then his undying determination to achieve liberation and realization. c.1880. (15" x 6") (37cm x 16cm).

The underside of this scarab is inscribed with a cartouche holding the name Menkheperre, the prenomen of pharaoh Thutmose III (Dynasty 18, ca. 1479-1425 B.C.) He was venerated after his death and the name of this great ruler continued to appear on stamp seals long after his reign, even into the Late Period (ca. 664-525 B.C.).

This is a 2nd Century Roman Glass, hand blown 2nd century AD. It is thick and heavy, unflawed, no chips or cracks, no hairlines,it has impressed squares on the body for about two third of the way down. Unguentaria used to hold poisonous, caustic oils or ointments and were never smooth sided, to prevent the Roman from grabbing the dangerous oil by mistake. Offered is this exquisitely beautifully hand-painted, French opaline glass perfume bottle. The perfume is 11 1/2 inches (29 cm) tall. Except for a couple of minute flakes on the bottom of the lid that are typical of these old perfume bottle lids (see last picture - the flakes are concealed when the lid is in place), the bottle is in very good condition. The lid-bottom and the bottle's pontil-bottom have numbers (the bottle's number is too faded to decipher what it is - see pictures)...

This is a very well preserved bronze sword or dagger from ancient Luristan (circa 1000BC). Overall this piece is in great condition. The flanges on the handle that would have held the inlaid bone,wood or ivory grip are mostly intact (except for one) which is fairly unusual for this type of weapon. This piece measures 353mm and weighs 135 grams. It has a choice, olive patina and no signs of repair.

Offered is this beautiful, peachblow glass vase, made around the turn of the 20th century, probably by Thomas Webb & Sons of Stourbridge, England. The vase is 8 1/2 inches (21, 5 cm) tall and 4 1/2 inches (11,5 cm) wide. The melon-twist vase has beautiful coloration and is in excellent condition. The enameling is highly suggestive of having been done by the studio of Jules Barbe. Unsigned.

Early 19th Century Japanese Wood Netsuke: ACROBAT

This is a finely hand carved, Early 19th Century Wood Netsuke depicting an Acrobat, who is wearing a fundoshi and sports an Eboshi hat on his head, demonstrating his contortionist skills by placing his left leg over the back of his head.

A fine example of an antique air twist glass. The pointed round funnel bowl is engraved with a fruiting vine, and raised on a multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) stem above a conical foot with a rough pontil.

Fine wooden netsuke of a man sitting with a turtle between his feet; he is busy tying up the animal; quality carving throughout; good condition

This is a northern Song dynasty green glazed bowl. It stands on a foot rim with a recess base exposing the light buff colour stoneware and then extending upwards with a C-shaped rounded body with a rounded rim like a lip. On the cavetto, it is incised with four bud of swirling flowers with lightly combed designed in between and the centre of the bowl.

The bowl is in good condition with the exception of minute abrasion and glaze fritting. There is no repair or restoration or any chip.

Superb ornate Victorian sterling silver soup ladle in the 1882 "Aeolian" pattern by Knowles.
