Deep blue Chinese cloisonne multi-tiered, 3 compartment box with gold gilt. The translucent enamels are rich and vibrant. This little treasure is in excellent condition, no chips, no repairs, etc. and measures 3.5" high (9.1 cm) x 3" diameter (7.6 cm).

A good Song dynasty longquan celadon ewer with cover, rounded side with upward spout and round handle, glaze base with unglazed foot ring, ewer is covered with good green celadon glaze.

A rare Chinese stationery box made of huanghuali wood,with an accessory tray made of other kind of wood, and two small ink stone inside the box. Chinese Southern Song Dynasty Moulded Qingbai Porcelain Vase (with characters)

This attractive pear-shaped vase was made during the Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1127 - 1279), most likely at one of the kilns in Fujian province. Antique chinese bronze figure of a child from the Ching dynasty, 18-19th century. The child is resting atop a cloak, barefoot. He wears a hat on his back of a traditional woven style. His hair is tied in the traditional knots, heavy. It measures 4" tall by 3" wide.

Very well crafted Sino-Tibetan gilded cast bronze figure of Buddha, seated in a lotus position upon a lotus base; dressed in a finely relief robe and a censer in one hand. Circa 19th century era. A good Yuan dynasty blue and white peony jar with two ears, rounded side with globular body and un glazed base, jat decorated with under glaze blue of fine drawing vertical peony and chrysanthemum flower motif divided with beaded motif, covered with white glaze.
Jar is in good condition with glaze flake / shallow chip at the rim (please see picture detail) no chip, no crack, no restoration.

This is one of a group of moulded pottery tablets that we bought about twenty years ago. They are made from a relatively high-fired pottery and have a surprising amount of detail. They were made as amulets and votive offerings and were reported to have been excavated from the foundations of an ancient Buddhist temple, where originally many would have been placed to ensure the success of the temple...

Antique Japanese iron tsuba or hand guard for a sword, in a mokko or melon shape, decorated with motifs of thin tree branches with plums and blossoms, with silver and Shokudo inlay, and an engraved sun in the top corner. The backside has a small cluster of plums inlaid with silver. Size: 3" height, 2.75" width

Antique Chinese pair of ornately carved gilt wood panels. Each panel is a mirror of the other and depicts a scholarly display of flowers in an elaborately carved vase. Among the flowers are lotus, peonies, berry stalks and blossoming fruit branches. Attracted to the berries, are a pair of kingfishers. Each vase stands on a multi tiered display with scrolls in boxes and upright containers surrounded by bats and kylin (qilin)...

Antique Japanese gyosho bako, or merchant's box, with iron rings and a smoothed carved indentation on one side so that it may be carried comfortably on a person's back. It has an interesting signature branded on its front door, and its side has the branded mark of a trio of leaves. The front door locks closed, and opens with a kan (ring) pull to an interior with four long drawers. Kanji seal, Edo Age c1800. Size: 19.5" height, 14.25" front to back, 5.75" width

19th century Japanese small lacquered wood netsuke representing a theatrical mask of demon Hannya. Excellent intense face, crisp detailing, nicely lacquered, great patina, some wear to the surface. Signed RYUUN on the back bar - the artist is listed in NETSUKE MASKS by Raymond Bushell, p. 175, signatures 241-243. Height 1.14 inches.

Interesting huge seal from the Oberländer collection. It was described as unidentified and probably ceramic, but to us it looks like Limestone, but we're not certain. At first glance it looks like a Pre-Columbian seal, but details doesn't compute and there were no Pre-Columbian seals in the collection, so it could be from Mesopotamia / Western Asia, we're not certain.

It's sold as guaranteed ancient and 800+ years old.

Meiji (1868-1912) Japanese Makie Lacquer Miniature Kodansu Cabinet Box with Drawers

It is 4.25 inches (10.8 cm) tall by 5.1 inches (13 cm) long and 3.4 inches (8.7 cm) wide. It is 369 gram (0.8 Lb).

It has chips, cracks, missing lacquer pieces, peeling of lacquer, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

On top of the stick is a forged iron hook to hang it from a horizontal beam or slat on the wall, together with a candle pricket. On the bottom is an iron sheet dripping saucer with pricket. Mingei.

Kodansu in ivory in the shape of an elephant, resting on four feet, enriched by refined inlay applications in the sophisticated Shibayama technique. This is a kagura costume made in the Tohoku region during the Meiji period. Kagura is a dance dedicated to the gods. Several types of pigments are used to paint this item. They are gold, green, bengara-red, yellow, white, brown and black. After first being dyed in beautiful indigo by Tsutsugaki, the painting is then painted freehand using pigments. Japanese small and exquisite Satsuma ware censer, unusual double gourd shape with two handles and three feet, lid with delightful fu-dog finial, one side is decorated with two scenes from 100 Rakans (Buddhist saints), the other side is decorated with two scenes of beautiful ladies, everything else is covered with tiny designs in gold, beautiful condition, Taisho Period, 6 character kanji says: Satsuma yaki, Suigetsu ga.
