This is an amazing small cloisonne vase. It is only 5 inches tall but has as much fine work as a great 12 inch vase. The rims are silver. It is not signed but the enamel colors and wire designs in the flowers appear to be the work Hayashi. Condition is excellent.

An antique Japanese Ikebana bamboo basket in a cylindrical form mimicking a Gourd. It was woven in a vertical stitch pattern juxtapose a visually lesser diagonal weave. The artist used the thin and medium bamboo strips to contrast and undulate texture and movement within the basket. The base forms a hexagonal circle with a six point star pattern at the bottom.

Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with gold lacquer decoration of leafy and pine branches, design continuing onto the back. Beautifully made, very good lacquering with some losses and wear as can be seen on photos, wonderful work in Japanese taste. Length 4.76 inches.

An original natural pigment pottery figure of a standing court lady wearing a short-sleeved tunic over a robe with long sleeves. Her interesting looped hairdo is parted into two bunches that rest atop the sides of her head. The figure has most of the original pigments, some of which have worn off over the years.Very difficult to find one that has not been restored. Period: Tang (618 - 907 AD) Size: Height = 22.5 cm, Width at base = 7.5 cm. Condition: All original. No repairs.

A set of rare and complete Burmese metal manuscript (KAMMAVACA) made from metal coated with gold and lacquer in nice condition. It was written in the Pali language using Burmese script. The square letters were written in thick and black cinnabar lacquer. This set has 16 leaves and 2 wooden covers made from teak wood. Each leave was inscribed on both sides with illustrations of deity figures from Hindu-Buddhist mythology on some leaves...

Used for ceremonial purposes by the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties. Traditionally, the jue vessel was made of bronze with a pouring spout on either end and a pair of capped posts rising from the rim. This piece, although in the shape of a jue, is done in fine, powdery-blue celadon and is described on the tomobako as being a jue-shaped incense burner (korou).

Excessively rare pair of cizhou jars representing rabbits. The elegance of the animals is surprising, the drawing is precise and fast, the artist has drawn his line without hesitation. An antique Japanese bamboo Ikebana basket with grated half hooped corners it in its design. The handle is loosely suggested in its token form suggesting its ethereal nature and use in the art of Ikebana flower arranging. It is a two slatted flat base with a bottom grid pattern measuring about 1" apart. The basket has an ephemeral quality as if it was made at the whim of the basket artist for the moment.

These 16 bone pendants were found together in Smythe County, Virginia on a Hopewell site. They are all identical in form. They are all drilled from the top at an angle. Average size is 1". They are made from squirrel shoulder blades. They have excellent patina and are all very solid. This is a very rare and unusual assemblage. They are ex Tom Davis. The name of the finder goes to the buyer.

Chinese Huanghuali altar table, its front and side aprons carved with dragons and fireballs. The side panels between the table's legs are carved with reticulated motifs of scrolls and dragons. The table's surface woodgrain shows many distinct "ghost eyes" associated with Huanghuali wood.

An antique Fubako, letter box, of a rarely seen design with a black ground having a flowing gold sprinkled pattern featuring wheel and wind/water designs in relief. There is also a lovely sprinkled design to the interior. The exterior bottom, which is covered when the box is closed, has the wheel designs and is very bright showing very little if any wear. Still retaining its original silk tasseled roping, this box is in superb condition...
