This is a fabulous Japanese cloisonne vase. It is done in a combination of traditional cloisonne and sculpted silver basse-taille work. The vase stands 6 inches tall and is 5 1/2 wide. It displays great but does have some damage or imperfections to the translucent enamel. This worst can be seen in the last image. There is a feathering in the enamel at the bottom rim. It is much more attractive in hand. The vase has silver rims and is signed Ota Jinnoei.

She bought what materials were needed for the vamp and supplemented with the use of rough home spun fabric scraps to cover the shaped heals and soles. A fine porcelain vase with two carps painted by Makuzu Kozan, also known as Miyagawa Kozan (1842-1916). The vase comes with a tomobako inscribed, signed, and sealed by the artist. Kozan's family originally produced fine tea ceramics for the imperial court during the end of the Edo period. During the Meiji period, Kozan moved his kiln from Kyoto to Yokohama to produce export ware. Enclosed in silver wire of varied thickness, boldly enameled iris grace this deep blue 6.5" Japanese cloisonne vase.

Condition: Three tiny red cloisons under the top rim are missing, behind these are small chips. The damage is under the rim at the back of the vase above the single iris bud and is not easily seen. There are no other issues.

This in a very nice Japanese cloisonne wisteria vase. It has a soft yellowish/green ground color which is fairly uncommon.The vase is in outstanding condition having just a few factory pits. From the looks of the enamel and workmanship, this vase appears to have been made by Ota. The vase stands 9 1/2 inches tall and it is a heavy piece.

Up for sale is an antique Chinese kesi /K'ossu tapestry, 19th or early 20th century, woven with polychrome silk & gold-wrapped threads, the middle square with gold thread ground depcits a battle scene - Worriors on horseback and armed; framed with border embellished with 16 Chinese mythical creatures.
