An antique Japanese Isho Tansu (kimono storage chest) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze hardware and Oxblood red Urushi lacquer finish. Drawer lock plates have an unusual stylized insect-like incised design with fine stimple work accents and handles in the Warabite style. True dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails were used in the making of this chest.

Big Qing Dynasty slip - painted Celadon vase. H : 13,5 inc. Some age cracks in the glaze and one short hairline to the rim, but still nice condition !

Large, Song style porcelain bowl with incised decoration. The very thinly potted body glazed with an superb, pale blue Qingbai glaze. Kangxi Period ( 1662 - 1722 ). The bowl is marked with a very rare Kangxi Mark : Xuanhe reign title ( AD 1119 - 25 ) I recommend to do a Google-search in order to read more about this rare Mark. Diameter : 18,4 cm. H : 5,9 cm. Condition : Perfect with a very very nice "ping" tone when tapped.

Chinese 4th Rank Court Official's silk badge of a wild goose. The background is black silk and is embroidered with very fine metal threads. The sun and its tendrils are silver foiled threads tacked down with red silk threads. The flowers are also silver but tacked down with green silk threads. The flowers appear to be white chrysanthemums, a symbol of nobility, elegance, and longevity. Each flower encompasses a display blue forbidden stitch knots to create the effect of pollen being dispersed...

An interesting and well-shaped tea bowl, this Meiji piece surely has stories to tell. The gold repairs traversing one side of the bowl are extensive and skillfully applied, nicely complimenting the dark ferrous clay and flaxen glaze. Many find such repairs quite attractive and in this case they clearly add an extra dimension to this lovely work...

A blue & white bowl, decorated inside and outside with chrysanthemum flowers. Ming dynasty early 16th century Hongzhi period found on Moluccas Halmahera Island. Condition is very good near perfect, just a bit warped and kiln material adhere to outside visible on enlargement 4, no any chip, no crack and free from any restoration. Diameter: 14,3cm.

Tokunyu was born as the eldest son of seventh-generation master Chonyu. He succeeded his father at the age of 18, but was prone to illness, and when his father died, he passed the mantle on to his younger brother later known as Ryonyu.

As he was sickly from a young age, he was a Raku master only for nine years and the number of his remaining works is the fewest among all Raku generations...

A rare Tang - Five Dynasties Xing Ware porcelain ( 618 - 960 ) in a never seen superb, tinly and fragile potted quality. Diameter : 12 cm. Condition : Perfect with a clear bright ring tone when tapped.

Antique Chinese silk robe, made with light burgundy silk fabric, edged in gold embroidered silk. The backside is ornately hand-embroidered with auspicious objects and symbols within flaming rings. The central image is a large yin-yang outlined by gold embroidered scrolls. With some areas of wear. Some fading and losses.

A very large 19th. century hanging scroll with a life-size anchestor portrait. Excellently painted in ink and colour on silk, on paper. The rank insignia of a paradise flycatcher identifies the portrayed as a 9th. grade official. Size: The hanging scroll as the background of the portrait: 235 x 129,5 cm. The painting itself: 189 x 96 cm. Condition: The hanging scoll as the supporting body of the portrait cracked ( please look at the images )...

Featuring rich earthy tones and intricate hand-drawn stencil designs of passion flowers resting on a string of vines, this bowl would be perfect for displaying an ikebana flower arrangement. A kintsugi (gold) repair attest to the age and care that went into maintaining this piece through generations. The label on the lid of the box reads “e-Seto Karatsumon O-wan” indicating a large Seto bowl with arabesque hand drawings (絵瀬戸 唐草文 大鉢)...

Antique Chinese Famille Rose porcelain brush pot with scenes of a pair of birds of paradise in a garden of peonies and chrysanthemums with butterflies flying about. It bears a seal on the base. It is attributed to Jia Qing. It measures 5.75" tall 5" wide at mouth, 4.75" at base.

A small and lovely water basin wit a rare Ru-type glaze ( Ru-ware, Ruyao ) following the glaze of the extremely rare Ru pieces of the Song Dynasty.. The base of the basin with 3 spur-marks and a underglaze blue four character Daoguang mark and of the period ( 1821 – 1850 ). Diameter : 7,7 cm. H : 1,8 cm. Condition : Perfect.

A fine Japanese boxwood netsuke carving of a tanuki, peering upwardly while holding a large sake container and a ledger book. He is a trickster spirit and is a highly amusing and popular icon. The netsuke has an expertly detailed carved form with a shell inlay signature on his underside.
