Chinese Famille Jaune porcelain ginger Jar, 8 1/4" high, 8 1/4" wide-widest part, 3 3/4" diameter-top rim, 6 3/4" diameter-bottom rim, Ca. later part of 1800's, Thick Polychrome overglaze design of Peony flowers and vines on the entire body with Chinese Character within four(4) round Cartoches. Star crack on the bottom, and stained over the years, scratch on the glaze on the raised decorated area.

Hinagata (sample book of hanten (short jacket) design which is wood-block print. Hinagata is a sample design book and it was for customers when they make orders. The designs are stencil-dyed in the back of hantens which were worn by workers such as shop clerks, fish market workers, firemen and so on. This book is a remake of the original book as the ground paper had many damages so that the original design hantens were cut out and pasted on Japanese paper and newly bound...

This is Tsutsugaki firefighter coat of Edo era (1800-1860). This is cotton Hanten spun by hand of thick indigo dyeing. It is a design very impressive beautifully. Like F1 ~ F5, this has the part that some indigo blue changed. Both cuffs have damage such as F6. 108cm x 123cm (42.5 "x 48.4")

A four drawer lacquered gyosho tansu. The tansu has metal work advertising the medicine the peddling merchant was selling. The medicine, soge-nuki kusuri (written on the box) aids in removing splinters. The medicine was made by Shiota Nadaya Juzaemon who was based near Takabashi, Shinbashi in Osaka city. The painting is signed and there are 2 seals on the painting which probably are the seals of the artist. The scroll : 165 cm x 46 cm. The painting : 69 cm x 34,8 cm. Condition : Perfect. Chinese 19th century gilt cloisonne box with wood lining; good condition

An intricately hand carved Chinese zitan or similar dark hardwood lid for a jar. There is an insurance number written on the inside of the lid, see last photo. In excellent condition, it measures approximately 2 inches (5.1 cm) high, 3"(7.6 cm) across at base, opening about 1.75" (4.4 cm). Dates 1800s

A scholar's drum shaped porcelain water pot for calligraphy which doubles as a scroll or paper weight when not in use. The top is decorated with a depiction of the sun and there is a line of tiny raised dots around the top and bottom representing drum nail heads. In good antique condition with a few nicks around top inner edge and expected amount of wear to raised areas. Measures 3.25" diameter x 1.5". Circa 1700's
