Pair of Twin Circular Screens made from Translucent Jade, with applied Black Jade, White Jade, Nephrite Jade, Agate, Carnelian, Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Malachite, Coral and more, carved into multiple compositions of flowering plants on rock formations with hovering butterflies. The carved circular Jade Disks rest on carved wood stands. Each carved jade disk measures 12 inches.

A pair of antique Japanese lacquer presentation processional boxes finished in original Urushi. Constructed of Hinoki (Cypress) wood it was made for both strength and to make it light in weight. The tops each have a hook style hinge on one side and a clasp on the opposite side where a cord or a lock would have kept the contents secure. The interior is lacquered and the floor contains two rings which were used in conjunction with a cord to secure the valuable content from shifting about...
The front side was carved with a high relief of a scholar and his horse under a tree. The back side was carved with a scene of a scholar sitting on a boat. Jadeite stopper and solid silver spoon.

Each side decorated in iron-red with Zhong Kui, on one main side the bearded, wild-eyed "Demon Queller" is shown dressed as a warrior and brandishing his sword, on the other main side he is shown dressed as a scholar and holding a closed folding-fan in his right hand. Daoguang period. Coral stopper.
