Japanese tenmoku ware ceramic vessel with ribbed handle, short front spout, and wide open top. The thick oil slick glaze stops just short above the foot left in buff.
Tenmoku glaze is made with feldspar, limestone, and iron oxide. The more quickly a piece is cooled, the blacker the glaze will be.

Chinese two color peking glass vase with white under red glass, the sides are faceted with honeycomb like pattern of white glass visible through the top layer of red glass. The mouth of the vase is dramatically flared with red rim.

Antique Chinese stone seal. The stone is variegated in color with black, grey, white, and pink colors thorughout. It has a small snail carved on it. There is a small inscription at the bottom, old red pigment from when it was used. It measures 2"5/8" tall 1" deep1.5" wide.

Antique Japanese bird mask of Karasu Tengu. This mask represents the legendary creature represented in Japanese folklore, the demon fighters who trained Yoritomo his sword skills. The gold eyes painted on the mask denote the demon character. Back of mask shows artistic carving in the kiri wood, including embossed mark of maker Osaki Kotasu.

Late 19th to early 20th century Chinese porcelain figure of a mythical beast crouching on a rock above cresting waves with its head lowered. Wonderful potting, excellent face, beautiful use of turquoise and aubergine colored glazes. Great patina, compressed dust on the surface, few spots of losses to the glaze, the body stamped with 2 characters on the bottom. Height 2.5 inches.

Large early Republic Chinese cloisonne lidded box on stand that could have graced a scholar’s desk. On each side is a 5 toed Imperial yellow dragon with the dragon on the lid chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom; all against a dark sky blue ground, the contrasting yellow stand really makes this piece stand out. The metal and wires are bronze gilt over copper. In excellent condition it measures 13.5" wide x 7" deep x 8.75" high
A celadon colored Chinese Peking Glass wine cup. It is molded glass, cut/grinded with a short carved foot. Chinese glass was largely used to imitate more precious materials such as white jade, lapis lazuli and other valuable minerals.
