Meiji (1868-1912) Japanese Bronze Peacock & Peahen Standing on Rock Okimono

It is 17.85 inches (45.5 cm) tall by 12 inches (30.8 cm) wide. It is 18.9 Lb.

It is in good condition with no repair, except the peahen is missing her crest and her tail is bent at the end. The flower branch between the rocks is loose. There are also small chips at the flower petals. There are small chips and cracks at the base...

Rare amber Buddhist mala or prayer beads, with 18 large beads for keeping count when reciting a mantra. Each large bead and spacer is carved from old amber tree resin with marbled color of black, red, and yellow. The strand has a tassel on its end.

Nuo mask of Kailu, "Open the path", god with a terrifying face (horns, fangs) who leads the funerary procession; his fierce face is intended to repulse the bad spirits (and the dangerous wild animals?).
Very rare big portrayal of Kailu with very big eyes and mouth, the only one of this kind i ever saw; 3 growing horns, big eyes and mouth, 2 fangs; ancient polychromia, nice patina...

A Chinese famille verte yellow-ground brush washer, of shallow circular form, robustly potted, the sides very slightly waisted. 13 cms diam. Kangxi mark. Qing dynasty, 19th century. Perfect condition.

Antique Chinese porcelain brush washer. Semi-conical form with doucai decoration of swirling clouds. Very fine lines with subtle overglaze colors on a white ground. The doucai technique allows for controlled details and vibrant colors as the outlines are first painted on as a blue underglaze and then fired. After this step, the colors are applied using lovely enamel overglazes and the object is fired again at a lower temperature...

The size of Bowl: 8 3/4" Dia x 4"High. Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain Deep Bowl. The bowl has very good enamel works surface as well as on the backside. Surface has the design of Eagle with Pine tree, clouds and bamboo grass. Inside rim area with blue underglaze and chrysanthemum design. Outside has a lots of enamel work with Peony flower and clouds. Very good works of blue underglaze design around foot rim. The condition of bowl is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline...

Japanese wooden netsuke of Daruma; very minor wear; good condition

The design of butterflies and melons is seldom encountered on Chinese porcelain, found only on a few Qianlong pieces. This shaped dish I feel is from the early 19th century but the ‘orange peel’ surface of the porcelain is often found on Qianlong export pieces. Like the Qianlong painted melons these have a pronounced ‘spotting’ in either famille rose or gold enamel on the fruits. 

Approximately 20.6cm across, 6.4 cm high...

Height approximately 31.5 cm (including wood stand). One of the handles has cracks. In good condition.

Locking bar secures 3 drawers behind it and the center design is the family crest of the family who commissioned this chest to be made...

Big "Bianlian" Nuo mask of Tudi Gong, the "God of soil" and grains, essential in an agrarian country...

19th century Asakusa school staghorn netsuke in manju shape with openwork carving of a winged water dragon in flight among clouds. Superb design and excellent quality sharp carving, beautiful warm patina, darker porous areas as is usual with staghorn. Loss to the part of the inner ring (not visible when manju is put together, photo #5, lower right image) not affecting integrity of the piece. Diameter 1.6 inches.
