Japanese antique iron lantern on three tall feet, made with 6 sides with open lattice work, beautiful rich patina, Great condition, very charming piece (early 20th century). Size: 13" high x 9 1/4" wide.

This antique Seto piece features a warm matte ash glaze with several patches of darker and lighter pigmentation. The molded clay shows striations that resemble textured wood grains—highlighted by a soft patina developed over many decades of use.

Wonderful pair of Ming Dynasty ceramic joss stick holders in the form of guardian lions in rich turquoise glaze on brown pedestals. Measure 6 3/4" high, 5 3/4" wide, and 2 1/2" deep. Figures are of buff colored clay, are hollow with hole in top for holding sticks. The turquoise glaze is somewhat mottled over the surface, deeper in color in some areas, and having a greenish hue in other areas, while the raised areas show the color of the underlying clay...

Sensuous and serene, this covered pewter jar is quiet, subtle, and sophisticated with it sparse plant motif which climbs up the wall onto the lid. An unusually small and rare antique Japanese Cha Tansu (tea chest) made of Kuwa (Mulberry) and Kuri (Chestnut) woods. All original bronze hardware. Two sliding doors behind which tea accessories were stored. A lift-out door behind which housed a tea canister of dried tea leaves ready for brewing. With four drawers of varying sizes to store additional tea accoutrements.

Antique Japanese 3 drawer gyosho bako or merchant's box, with original red lacquer finish. The top of the box has a carrying handle and the 3 drawers are opened by hirute shape iron pulls with square locks and corner hardware.

Although it is smaller than other examples of this genre, this tea caddy packs a big punch with its gorgeous blue and white hand painted Chinese scenery. It depicts both natural scenery as well as different structures such as home and pagoda. The rim of the shoulder is accented with pale gold enamel.
