This is a very refined studio vase from the Meiji era. The subtle colors and detail are truly beautiful. It is signed by one of the Japanese porcelain masters, Nishiura Enji. The work on Mt Fuji is raised relief and give off a three dimensional look. The shape is elegant and the changing colors are vry elusive. The vase stands just over 6 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

This is an early Japanese Imari vase from the last quarter of the 1800's. The leaves and flowers are painted in thick colorful enamels. There are also some gold highlights. The vase is very heavy and stoutly made. It is 10 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches wide. Condition is very good with some expected wear. Still a very fine old display piece.

Large Sawankhalok covered box from 14th-16th century with ribbed lid and base & blues and browns in under-glaze with clear design. There is visible damage to the inside rim of base and to the lid. Wonderfully made Chinese Statue of the mythical diety Zhong Kui. Zhong Kui was seen as many symbols including, protector of evil spirits, expeller of demons plague, and protects homes with male children. Zhong Kui is posing triumphantly with sword in hand, and a bat in the other. His foot is resting on a demon he commands. Incredible detail in the folds of his clothing, face and body of both Zhong Kui and demon. Five bats outline chinese symbol on his chest...

Antique Chinese wooden tray, likely made from boxwood with a black/brown finish. It has one main larger compartment carved with two large lotus leaves, a lotus flower, and a lotus pod. The smaller compartment has a carved lotus pod with moveable seeds. It has two sides handles formed as stems. Size: 33" long, 17" wide, 1" tall

Antique Chinese robe made from beautiful red silk with auspicious designs of clouds, its interior lined in light blue silk. Its sleeves, collar, and bottom are lined in deep blue silk, with gold thread butterflies and flowers, and bordered with pink, white, yellow, and green auspicious motifs with a blue background. A lovely Japanese painting on paper of two men observing the moon. This scroll was sold on consignment by a Japanese dealer named Sakura. According to Sakura and in his opinion, this painting would date from 1800-1849, and is in fair to good condition. All genuine antique scrolls will show signs of wear and discoloration and in some cases damp staining. The painting appears to be salvaged and remounted at least 20 years ago. The scroll fits into a custom made box...

This is a very fine Japanese cloisonne saki pot done with the gilded wires. The condition of the gold is exceptional for this style of cloisonne. There is a very slight dent on the metal edge of the handle that can be seen best in the 5th image. The pot measures 4 inches across and has a slight bluish green counter enamel.

This is a very fine early Japanese plique-a-jour bowl. The bowl measures 4 3/8 inches across and stands 2 1/4 inches tall. The bowl has two short lines in the yellow/red mums on the side that are hard to see. Look for them in the images. They can not be felt with a fingernail and are probably not all the way through. It is mounted with silver rims.
