Nice old Tibetan or Baotou saddle carpet, with floral medallions and scroll pattern. There are some repairs and restorations which I have highlighted in enlargement two. An authentic 17/18th century Japanese Edo Period sake bottle in blue and white , in good condition

Vibrant yellow enameled porcelain 'Birthday' plate inscribed "wan shou wu chiang" in circular reserves. Underside bears six-character iron red Guangxu period (1875-1908) with "CHINA" export mark. In excellent condition, it measures a little over 8" (20.32 cm) diameter.

Finely carved mask of the Noh traditional theater, with a verystrong expression, representing the character of Otobide. The mask is made of wood, painted in gold (the whole face), black (for the eyebrows and moustache, also on top of the forehead) and red (for the mouth), and the eyes are made of brass. A scarce and nicely formed bronze netsuke. The sculptural group depicts festival musicians playing a Taiko drum and Shinobue flute - the drum player with mask pulled back. Nicely detailed, down to the fingers and expressions of the musicians. The himotoshi is formed by the extended arm of one figure supporting the figure atop the Taiko. Edo period, 19th century. Good condition with rich, natural patina. Height, 1 5/8 inches

Tanomura Chokugai(1905-1997) was a Japanese painter born in Kyoto. Great-grandson of Tanomura Chokunyu(1814-1907). He studied under Tanaka Hakuin(1866-1934). He was a member of the Kyoto Japanese Painters Association and chairman of the Kyoto Shogain.

Powerful and quite rare wood image depicting Hayagriva, the wrathful emanation of Avalokiteshvara, with a horse head appearing from his skull, a dorje in his right hand; he is wearing a long necklace of skulls (the center, lower part is lost), he wears a human and elephant skin on his shoulders ( the lower, left corner of the “skin” is broken, old brake). Qing Dynasty, rare (no one I know has seen one before), silver amulet with a rat (definitely not a mouse). 2020 was the Chinese Lunar Calendar for the Metal Rat so this being a silver piece represents a full 60 year lunar cyclical completion this year. In Chinese society the Rat is considered clever, cultured, shrewd and intelligent although a bit manipulative (Mark Zuckerberg is a Rat)...

Very pretty Satsuma earthenware bowl, round in shape, decorated with gold and polychrome enamels, representing inside the bowl, courtesans and children, in a garden, under maple trees, and near a lake. The kimonos are sumptuous by the thickness of gold used and the finesse of the details. The perimeter represents a meeting of samurai and on the other side courtesans under cherry blossoms. Signed: Kinkozan. Diameter: 12.5 cm, height: 5 cm. Period: Meiji around 1900. + Wooden box.
